GULLIBLE'S TRAVELS

Wednesday, 12 January 2011

Are you

gullible? I mean, does someone tell you

something, anything...and you instantly

believe it? Well, if that's true, I've got news for

you. Yep...you're gullible. And do you know

when many of us are most gullible? Well,

it's when we're watching TV.

Between

the segments of your favorite shows, especially this

time of year, you'll spot one commercial after

another, each touting some new weight-loss plan.

And oh, wow...do they ever tell some

stories, right? (Or are they more like fibs?

LOL.)

Oh yes, you'll hear claim-after-claim from these

commercials telling how their product can help you

lose weight. Their commercials go so fast and are

peppered with before and after photos of clients

who've supposedly used their products and lost 20,

50, 100 pounds or more. Then the commercial begins

claiming that you can lose plenty

of weight, too...just like the people in the

photos. (Oh, the promises.) We

guarantee...you're going to lose weight...quick

and easy! And don't we just love hearing

those words when it comes to losing weight?

The commercials claim that all you have to do is

take this pill, drink that shake or sprinkle some

special powder on your food that's gonna help you

drop those unwanted extra pounds.

Now let's talk about the exercise. Those ads claim

you'll have to workout only 5 minutes-a-day

to see unbelievable results using their machine. Or

if you want perfect washboard abs, their exercise

equipment will give them to you...in just

minutes a day! Then they flash a toll-free

number on the screen for you to call. The

commercial ends with the announcer breathlessly

imploring you to...Call Now! Well, all I

can say is...buyer beware.

At the end of those commercials, do you know how

many gullible people rush to the phone and

order those products? All I can tell you is...millions!

Hey, it's January and all of those companies know

what you want in 2011. They know how many Americans

have made a New Year's resolution to lose weight.

And, believe me...they're out to get you!

So, how

many of these products have you ordered?

How many times have you believe'd some

weight-loss product would actually come through with

the claims it made on TV? Look, these companies know

that in January so many Americans will try

desperate things to lose weight. But I'm here to

beg you, please...don't be gullible! Deep

inside your heart, you know for a fact that the only

way to lose weight the right way is to eat

healthy and make exercise a dedicated part of your

life. It's the tried-and-true weight-loss

formula that really works!

Now I'll be honest with you. I've tried diet pills,

shakes and some some other crazy things to lose

weight. And each one of them ended up being, simply

put...my money thrown away.

So I

hope that if you're watching TV today and get

tempted by one of those crazy weight-loss

commercials making outlandish claims, you'll simply

grab your remote control and change the

channel.

Love,
