Well, I started a spreadsheet to record my steps. My goal is to do 2.5million steps. (Much less of a goal than others!) Anyway, just recording this week's steps, I noticed a pattern. I was able to get over 7000 steps in with NO problem on days I was in my classroom for a "normal" school day. The other two days, I had difficulties. Thursday, I was at a meeting all day, and I had walked some during the lunch break and any other break, but still only had 5,000 steps by the time I got home. (I wouldn't have done that, if I hadn't had my pedometer on, so I am glad that I am doing this.) Friday we had a field trip, so we sat for an hour at the presentation and about an hour on the bus. So, I only had a bit over 4,000 steps by the

end of the day. I also learned that my weekends are not as active when it is below zero and I don't get OUT OF THE HOUSE! Saturday I was LAZY!!! Sunday I got a few more steps in, because I did grocery shopping and cleaned the house. This week I didn't do any extra walking on the treadmill, because I just wanted to see what sort of steps I get normally. (I did do a few exercise DVDs, but didn't have my pedometer on.)As far as the weight... Still not really moving down, but also not UP! So, my plan, based on this information: Make sure I move more during the weekend. UP and down the steps several times. When I was first losing weight, I remember one tip was to fold clothes ONE at a time and put them away ONE at a time. So, that would mean, fold a towel downstairs, walk it upstairs to put away, then back downstairs for another towel. Think I may try that.

Not with the WHITES, mind you... THAT would be a nightmare with all the socks and undies between me and my hubby. It would also take all day!Next week, I am in the classroom all week, so I don't see a problem getting 7000 steps in during the work week. I did tell my students (third graders) my plan, because we are working with large numbers and place value AND time. SO, I told them my plan and then asked them how I would figure out how many steps I would need to take in a week? A month? A day? We talked about HOW to figure it out. Was kind of fun. (Making math real is always a good thing!) I also want to get some pedometers from the PE teacher to have the kids use to see how many steps they put on in a day.Well, enough typing... time to fold my husband's work pants... Let's see how many trips that will take. (The last time I did this was when I was single and lived in a single

level town home... Folding things one at a time really wasn't THAT big of a deal... I didn't have THAT far to walk. This time it is up a flight of stairs, but still not far to walk, since our house is SMALL!) apmleehere@...
