FF & C

Tuesday, 04 January 2011

Guess what I did yesterday? I

cleaned out my FF & C, that's what. Okay, I know,

you're wondering. What the heck am I talking about,

right? Well, FF & C stands for Fridge, Freezer

and Cabinets...in my kitchen. Yep, it's a

project I take on at the beginning of every new year.

You see, food has a way of getting

into your freezer, fridge and cabinets. (Thanks to

all of your trips to the supermarket. LOL.) And

let's face it, you know that when there're food

temptations in your kitchen, you can easily fall prey

to them. That's why it's so important for you to take

on cleaning out your FF & C here at the start of

2011.

First, let's talk about your fridge. What's in there,

huh? (Hey, you may not even be so sure! LOL.)

That's why you have to take everything out and see

just what's lurking inside that Whirlpool of yours.

See, if you don't want those foods in your body then

you certainly don't want them in your fridge, do you?

You betcha...not! So clean out that fridge,

baby!

Brr-r-r-r-r-r! Feeling the chill? That's

because we've moved on to the freezer. So, when's the

last time you cleaned it out? Do you even

know what's inside some of those aluminum foil-covered

packages? Some of the foods inside your freezer are

so old, they're probably a little frostbitten! LOL.

And if you have pre-packaged frozen entrees in your

freezer, you need to check the labels to see if

they're what you should be eating on your food

program. How much fat, sodium and how many calories

are in them?

By the way, I usually have a

freezer full of food. That's because I cook every

week and freeze portions ahead of time. That way, I

can pop a meal that I made myself into the

oven when I'm ready for dinner. (I've told you

before, that's a good idea for you, too.) Okay, now

it's time to hit the cabinets.

Once again, for starters, everything's gotta come

out. From your canned foods to that special cabinet

where you keep your cookies and snacks...clean 'em

out! And while you're at it, check the

expiration dates on the canned goods and boxed food

items that may be hiding in your cabinets.

Now tell me, what are you going to do with those

salty, greasy snacks that may be living in your

cabinets? Well, you should march them straight to the

garbage can, that's what. Like I said before, if it

doesn't belong in your body...it doesn't belong in

your FF & C either.

Once you've cleaned everything out and your kitchen

looks like a group of angels live there, make a

shopping list for your next visit to the supermarket.

And this time, be sure to stock your kitchen with the

healthiest foods possible. Here's a fact: You're

never gonna lose the weight until you clean that

kitchen of yours of all the foods you know you should

not be eating.

I hope you've been staying on

program in this new year. I know how much you want to

finally lose this weight and keep it off. Make

2011 the year you do it. Begin by taking my

advice today and become Mr., Miss, MS. or Mrs.

Clean! (Choose your title.)

Now in the meantime, if you don't have time to clean

out your kitchen, well, just send me your address.

I'll be right over later this week to do some FF & C

cleaning...for you!

Love,
