SOMETHING!

Tuesday, 08 February 2011

No matter what day of the week it

is, I receive E-mail from people who're unable to do

much in the way of exercise because of any number of

medical problems they may be facing. As I sit and

read their E-mails, my heart really goes out to the

people who write me with these issues.

I know that millions of Americans

suffer with back pain. In fact, did you know that

back pain is the most common form of chronic pain

Americans face? I've suffered with back pain a little

in the past and, thank goodness...it was only

a little. Those of you who experience back pain know

what I'm talking about. Your back hurts when you get

up, it hurts when you sit down and some people can't

even sleep comfortably because of their back pain. My

own episodes are usually brief and go away in a day.

But I can imagine what a person goes through who

suffers through back pain, 24 hours a day.

Another common pain I read about in my mail is from

people suffering with pain in their joints. This form

of pain is often brought on by bursitis, arthritis or

other ailments that may attack our joints. With this

type of pain, every time a person moves, a particular

joint in their body may really hurt. That

pain makes even the most common everyday activities

difficult to perform. And by the way, I have

to mention one joint pain I can personally relate to

and that is knee pain.

So many Americans, seeking relief

from pain end up visiting their doctors and are

prescribed some kind of medication to help them get

some relief. And there are so many pain medications

out there, by prescription or over-the-counter. A

lady wrote me the other day and told me that she takes

11 pills everyday just so she can feel

"pretty good."

And you know what happens when you're not moving your

body as much because of the pain? Well, you end up

with a weight-gain!

But in spite of the pain many of us suffer on a

regular basis, my belief is that everybody can still

do something...some form of exercise that

will help keep their circulation going, their hearts

healthier and their bodies burning calories.

I have a DVD available in my Clubhouse Store called SIT

TIGHT. I am so proud of this workout. The entire

class is taught from a chair, from a seated position.

I remember when we taped that workout. I got to meet

so many different people who'd had a very difficult

time trying to exercise in the past. There are people

in Sit Tight who have MS, back problems and

other physical challenges. There are even people in

my DVD in wheelchairs but were still able to do the

entire workout. How wonderful for them!

It's like I said, every-body can do something!

Millions of Americans with various levels of physical

challenges have discovered that they can still workout

and get their bodies moving again, thanks to Sit

Tight. It makes me feel so good when I create

an exercise program that everybody can enjoy.

There are health clubs, hospital

wellness centers and YMCAs all over the country that

teach exercise classes for those people who suffer

with chronic pain or other physical challenges. A lot

of people tell me they use water-aerobics as a form of

exercise and I love hearing that. Water aerobics burn

a lot of calories and is an excellent form of

resistance exercise. It's a great form of

exercise for your body!

If you're one of those people suffering from pain or

some other physical challenge, today, I want you to

research exercise programs that may be available in

your area that can help you do something...to get that

body of yours moving. And I don't want to

hear you saying, Oh, ! I just don't think

I can do it! Because I'm here to tell you...YES,

YOU CAN!

You may also know someone in your family or circle of

friends who needs a gentler form of exercise. If you

do, please print this message out for them so they can

read it, too.

Before I go, please remember to consult your physician

before beginning a dedicated exercise program,

especially if you'll be new to working out. And one

more time, every-body can do...something!

Love,
