YOU

WANT...MUSCLES!

Saturday, 19 February 2011

And why shouldn't you want

muscles? Hey, they're gorgeous! I mean,

look at the works of a couple of legendary painters

from the past, like Michelangelo and Da Vinci. You

should see the paintings of some of the Biblical

figures in the Sistine Chapel. I'm telling you, Adam

and even God are painted with some very impressive

upper bodies!

Okay, during the days of my youth,

I was never very much into muscles. When I'd see

photos of some of those muscular guys or see

them parading on New Orleans' Pontchartrain Beach, I'd

wonder..."What happened to them?!" And okay,

I know you don't want muscles like

Arnold Schwarzenegger's but...you should want

muscles!

When I first opened Slimmons in Los Angeles, our

workouts in those early days were all about cardio.

And when I looked in the mirror, I could see how those

cardio workouts were shaping my legs and buns but

thought I still looked a little out-of-shape in my

upper body. Sure, I'd lost a lot of weight but I was

not pleased with the sagging skin my weight-loss had

left behind.

Hearing about my plight, a friend of mine suggested I

start working out using 5-pound weights. She showed

me some of the toning exercises I should do to build

my muscles and help tighten my skin. She also showed

me the proper exercises that would help build my

chest, back, shoulders and those major muscles in my

arms, my triceps and biceps.

At first, I was afraid that

lifting those weights was going to hurt! But you know

what? It didn't! Oh sure, I was a little sore in the

beginning but, I have to say, it was a good kind

of sore. And, on top of that, looking in the

mirror as I used the weights, I could see the muscles

in my body moving beneath my skin. It was really

fascinating to see my muscles working.

Soon, I graduated from 5-pounds to doing my routine as

I worked out with 10-pound weights. And within six

months, I moved up to 15 and eventually 20-pounds.

Oh...I had muscles...and was getting

stronger everyday!

In fact, I was so happy with my

results that I wanted to share my new workout method

with others. And over the years, I've done several

toning workouts where we toned and built our muscles

using toning cords, toning rings, or free-weights.

There are so many benefits to

lifting weights. The first one, of course, is how

good your muscles look under your skin as you get

stronger and stronger. Those stronger muscles also

help protect your bones. And wait 'til you hear this

news: Even when you're at rest, those new muscles of

yours are burning calories more efficiently.

Now that's a nice bonus, huh? In

my Clubhouse Store, you'll find toning workouts you

should try.

Personally, I tone each muscle

group every week. And while I'm toning, I play some

good, hot music and talk to my muscles as I work them

out. "Come on, you cute little biceps, do a curl

for me! And you shoulders, I'm gonna get you all

cut and firm so I can look really nice in my tank

tops!"

Now I'll be honest with you, there are times when I

don't feel like lifting weights. But when I think

about how good I'll look and feel after my workout, I

just have to get into that gym and get these

muscles of mine...working!

I can't wait for you to

see a difference in your muscles like I've seen in

mine. Every muscle in your body works better when

they're toned and in good shape! So your exercise

formula should be the same as mine. Three days of

cardio, three days of toning and a day of walking...every

week. That's what keeps me looking good

and...in good shape.

Now, go get yourself some...muscles!

(I know you want 'em.)

Love,
