We did make it home yesterday. Even as we finished delivering the load, they sent us another load assignment which had us in a panic until they released us from it so we could go home. We decided to ease up the day by going to Golden Corale for dinner, then hit World Market from husband's breads and candies, then we went to the liquor store for wine. We got an excellent shiraz, Rafferty's Rules. It's an Australian wine, deep and rich and we really enjoyed that I am proud of myself for not getting any brandy. The buffet was so good, we both ate only salad, brussel sprouts, green beans and meats. We liked the chicken and had a bite or two of beef, husband had some steak. I was so proud of him for not having any potatoes or breads at all and no dessert. I did have 2T of frozen soft serve, but it wasn't worth it. The rest of the meal was fabulous. I ate 1 and 1/2 plate of food. This is my best estimation of the meal: Very high in carbs for one meal for me, but I really wanted fresh peas on my salad and the creamed spinach. The soft serve contributed as well. However, we were pleasantly full and not in pain as we expected, and both felt we had made good choices. I was so pleased to hear that husband felt it was the best way to eat for a buffet and that he didn't miss the potatoes. The rest of the meals yesterday went as follows: Again, way too high in carbs for my plan, but I am very pleased overall for the calories not being outrageous and the satisfaction for the first evening off the truck being such a pleasure. There were 2 squares of chocolate left over from Christmas, so I had them with my wine while we watched a film. I did bypass getting any more chocolate at World Market, so I am hoping I am going to make these next 4 days ON PLAN! I really wanted to test my BG’s, but ran out of strips, I will pick more up today. I got on the scale at home, it showed me at 238lbs, which always weighs me higher than the truck scale, it may include the dinner last night (sodium) or the high altitude (fluid retention). I will keep an eye on it. I have lots of errands to run today, so I will be quite active for a change...YAY! --
