A

VERY MERRY ONE TO YOU!

Saturday,

25 December 2010

I got up very early this morning. I was

just too excited to sleep. First, I went

downstairs, turned on all of the Christmas lights

and sat in front of the tree for a while. Then I

went back upstairs to do my workout. I worked out

to Christmas music this morning. I did my

leg-lifts, my cardio and some toning for my chest

and back. That's right, I don't "take a day off"

from my workout on Christmas. Hey, it's my

Christmas present...to me!

After finishing my

workout, I went downstairs and found my sweet

Hattie sound asleep on the dining room floor. I

crawled over to where she was and curled up right

next to her where my chest was nestled against her

back. I placed my hand over her chest and could

feel her little heart beat. I am so blessed to

have Hattie with me this Christmas. I pray every

night for God to let her stay with me longer. I

have to tell you, I lay there hugging her with

tears rolling down the side of my face.

I can remember, from years

ago, coming downstairs on Christmas morning and

having my six Dalmatians around the tree

with me. Today, all I have is my sweet Hattie.

When they were all still with me, one year I took

photos of my six girls, all wearing little Santa

caps. (They were so cute!) I made a montage of

their photos and put them in a pretty frame. And

now, every year at Christmas, I take out that

photo of my girls and put it in the living room.

By doing that, I feel like my babies are still

with me for Christmas. Thank You, Dear Lord,

for bringing these very special girls into my

life. They truly have been members of my family.

Later this morning,

I'll start cooking Christmas dinner. I'm stuffing

some chickens to roast later. I'm also making a

beets salad with roasted pecans. I'll be making a

yam casserole, brussel sprouts, green beans and

broccoli. (You know me, I like to have as many

vegetables on the table as I can.)

For dessert, I'll be serving

fresh peach sorbet with sliced mango and

pineapple. A friend of mine makes these heavenly

powdered sugar cookies and I will have one tonight

with my cup of sorbet.

I know exactly what I'll be

eating and the portions I'll be having

everything in, too. At the dinner table, I'll be

sitting across from my brother, Lenny and his

wife, . We'll all enjoy this scrumptious and

healthy holiday meal together.

And you know who's going to be

laying right next to my chair in the dining room,

don't you? Well, of course, it'll be my daughter,

my love...my Hattie. How she loves

my roasted chicken. And oh, she like a little

taste of that sorbet, too. LOL.

I hope you have a

wonderful Christmas with your own family today.

And I hope you begin your day with a workout,

just like I did this morning. And do me one

favor, will you please? Say hello to all of your

friends and family from me. And oh yeah, to your

pets, Hattie wishes them all a happy holiday,

too. (Maybe they'll get a little morsel of turkey

today. LOL.)

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of

you!

Love,
