SOUR

Sunday, 30 January 2011

I don't like sour foods. There're

this candy out there I'm sure you've all seen.

They're like little gummy bears and have sugar

sprinkled all over them. They're very cute and I'm

sure the kids love 'em. And boy, are they ever sour.

But you know what's worse, to me, than sour candy? Sour

people!

You can tell when someone's sour.

I mean, it looks like they're sucking on one of those

sour candies I just told you about. They scrunch

their lips, their eyebrows get all twisted and there's

no smile on their faces. They end up with an overall

sour look and no, it is not pretty.

Now what makes a person sour? Well, maybe it was an

unpleasant experience from their childhood they never

got over. Some people are sour because they recently

went through a divorce or broke up with someone they

thought cared for them. Getting fired from a job can

make a person sour. Some people get sour when their

cars break down. And being sour? Well, its just not

a good thing.

When you're sour, you don't let the good

into your day because all you're doing is thinking

about the bad. And what kind of future can

you expect for yourself if you're living such a sour

life all the time?

I was talking to someone a few days ago and it was

such a pretty day. I said to them, "Look

outside, I don't think I've seen a more brilliant

and sunny afternoon in months." And do you

know what that person said back to me? "Oh, it

probably won't last! You never know. We could have

rain and thunderstorms before the day is over."

Oh my, I thought that was such a sour thing

to say! (And how do you think the sun

felt?)

You know I love to give you

mantras and here's your mantra for today: When

I'm sour, I lose my power! And it's true...oh

yes, you do!

Remember, you are a powerful person and you

can do so many wonderful things with your life. But

if you're living in a fog of sourness, you'll never

achieve any of the goals you want for your life.

Millions of Americans are sour

about their weight. They've been on so many diets and

spent so much time and money on them. And

the truth is, they now feel like they've been

burned...badly. But hey, if you don't

work with your sensible weight-loss program,

then it won't work for you.

So don't be sour...be sweet! And living your

life will become one big daily treat!

Love,
