Guest guest
7 QUESTIONS Saturday, 13 November 2010 So how's your Saturday going? Yesterday, during our discussion about childhood obesity, we also talked about the importance of having a healthy breakfast. So, did you have a healthy breakfast this morning? I sure hope you did. Now tell me, how did this week treat your waistline? Did you lose weight? How much...a pound? A pound-and-a-half? Or was this not a successful weight-loss week for you? Well, if that's the case, how's about we change that for next week? Here's how. I have seven questions for you to answer today. And if you can answer them all with a YES, I think you'll be motivated to do better next week with your weight-loss efforts. And if you did lose weight this week, answering yes to these questions will help sharpen your weight-loss focus for next week. Ready for my questions? Okay, let's go! 1. Are you ready to make a long term lifestyle change to meet your weight-loss goal? Now you'll notice, I used the phrase...long term. And you know what that means...forever. You have to eat healthy and exercise daily to lose the weight and keep it off. And you have to do it...for life. (I know, keeping it off can be a little tough but...you can do it!) 2. Do you finally realize that there're no "quick and easy" ways to lose weight? Do you accept the fact that you have to stay on a healthy food program and not try anything crazy to lose weight? 3. Are you ready to get serious about changing the way you eat? Yesterday, we also talked about the importance of teaching our children good eating habits early in their lives. Well remember, you're not a child anymore. You're an adult now. And once you change your eating habits, for the better, you will see the numbers on your scale...go down. 4. Are you motivated to workout everyday? You know what I always say. You eat everyday and you have to work off those calories you consume everyday, too. Hey, you've gotta pay the "sweatin' piper!" 5. Do you have a support system? Do you have family and friends to help keep you motivated? Oh, it's all about support. It's good to have your own support, (inside you), but it also helps the process of losing weight if you have people in your life who love, support and are there for you everyday. 6. Do you journal your weight-loss efforts? Do you write in your journal each day the foods you ate, the kind of exercise you did and how long you worked out? Do you keep a log of your weigh-ins to see how well you're doing? And finally... 7. Are you willing to forgive yourself for all of the times you tried to lose weight in the past? And are you ready to forgive those who hurt, offended you or made nasty remarks about your weight over the years? Okay, if you can answer YES to the above seven questions, (and I know I asked a few more), then I'd say you're ready for your challenge and the journey to the all NEW YOU. Now it's important to remember, answering yes to only some of those questions just won't do. Uh-uh. You need to be able to answer yes...to all of them. By the way, I want to keep reminding you that the holidays are upon us. You have to be strong enough to face them. So right now, on this Saturday, I want you to get motivated and committed. And I don't want you to start tomorrow, after a big Saturday night dinner...I want you to start now! Love,
