Guest guest
"HOW'S WEDNESDAY AT 3:00?" Monday, 03 January 2011 So are you enjoying January so far? I hope so! Did you get your workout in yesterday, like I begged you to? And did you stay on your food program? (I begged you to do that, too.) Well, if you did, I hope you do the same today. Now, I need to ask you another question. And that is...when's the last time you had a complete physical? You should be getting a physical annually, that is every year! See, as you get older, your body changes and you need to know just what's happening inside that body of yours as you age. When I was a kid, I just loved going in for my annual physical. My pediatrician was named Dr. Veith and he was such a kind man. "Here's a lollipop for you , Dicky." (And you know I must have loved that! LOL.) Dr. Veith had a very soft, mellow voice and talked to me the whole time during my examination. He always made me feel so at ease. And when he wasn't talking, Dr. Veith would sometimes whistle during my visit. And by the way, he had a really good whistle, too. He could hit a lot of different notes. After I turned 16 years-old, Dr. Veith gave me some bad news...I would have to get myself a new doctor! I was now 16 and a little "old" to be one of his patients. Hey, I was a teenager getting ready to enter young adulthood. So I guess you could say, Dr. Veith kinda "whistled" me away. LOL. When I moved to Los Angeles in the 70's, I found myself a wonderful doctor, Dr. Geller. A few years ago, he retired from practicing medicine and now, his son is my GP. (Talk about keeping it all in the family.) And I just love the new Dr. Geller. Only thing is, he doesn't whistle. LOL. Today, on this Monday January 3rd, I'll be calling in Dr. Geller's office to set up an appointment for my annual physical. And when I call, she'll say something like, "How's Wednesday at 3:00, ?" And I'll say back to her, "Sounds good to me, . I'll be there so y'all get ready!" And when Wednesday arrives, I'll dance right into Dr. Geller's office and sing to everyone as I walk in! (And you know I'm not kidding. LOL.) And hey, maybe...just maybe, I'll do a little whistling for Dr. Geller when I see him. Yep, I'm scheduling my physical and, may I tell you something? If you haven't done so, especially in a long time, you need to set yours up, too. I know that many of you don't particularly like seeing the doctor. Lots of people in our country haven't seen a doctor in five or ten years. Oh, I can't imagine! That's simply not a good thing to do and certainly not a smart one, either. I want you to be brave and sensible this year. Make an appointment to see your doctor and get the physical you truly should have once a year. Your doctor needs to check that body of yours out from your head to your toes. And oh yeah, when you see the doc, maybe you'll whistle a little tune for her or him. And I know you know how. Just press your lips together and.... Love,
