THE LAST FIRST

OF THE YEAR

Wednesday, 01 December 2010

I've been writing you a

motivational message on the first day of every month

this year. And with each of them, I've always told

you to wipe from your minds the month before. (That

is, if it were not a particularly good month for

you.) I reminded you to always start each new

month...fresh! I told you that I believed in

you and that it was possible for you to lose about

five pounds every month if you were diligent and

stayed on program.

Well, 11 months have passed in

2010. Hard to believe it's the first day of December

already, isn't it? But it is and, once again, I'm

here to remind you of how special you are and how you

should be taking good care of yourself this and every

month. You know how to take good care of

yourself, too. I know you do.

What I've discovered from reading the E-mail I receive

is that many of you are very sensitive. When you

don't stay on program, you don't see a weight-loss.

And because you don't, you end up getting very upset

with yourself. So upset in fact, that you end up

eating...more!

Truth is, you could have lost

55-60 pounds or more so far in 2010. Now I don't know

how much weight you've lost this year or if you've

lost any at all. But you can't beat yourself up this

month for not staying on program and losing weight

last month, or the month before. Hey, you can't go

back and retrieve January. In fact, you can't take

back any of the months that've passed in

2010. All you have now is this month...December.

And December is what you really need to focus on.

And yes, it's possible even with

all of the holiday food you're about to face, you can

still see a weight-loss this month. So why not end

2010 with a big weight-loss bang! You are

stronger than the fruit cake and you're stronger than

the honey-baked ham. I know you'll be busy sending

out Christmas cards, decorating your house and

wrapping gifts. But while you're doing all that,

don't forget to take care of your own wrapping. I'm

talking about that body you're "wrapped"

in.

There are 31 days this month and that means you should

exercise at least 31 hours this month. So

put on some of your favorite holiday music and dance

your own version of The Nutcracker.

Have I convinced you to take good care of yourself

this month? I hope so. Because all I want is for you

to be happy, healthy and peaceful. And I know you

want that for yourself, too.

A lot of people are going to say to themselves this

month, "Well, I'll just have fun and eat whatever

I want in December. I'll get serious about losing

weight when the new year rolls around."

I've told you before to please not

think like this. In the next 31 days, you can form

better eating and exercise habits while creating a

healthier life for yourself. Now talk about a great

present to give yourself for Christmas...there it

is! So take my 5 Pounds-A-Month weight loss

challenge really seriously this month, if you haven't

already.

Before I let you go, today at sundown begins the

Jewish Holiday, Hanukkah. So I want to say happy

holidays to all of my Jewish friends out there,

too!

Love,
