Guest guest
Even with a CT or MRI there are lots of things that can makes bumps in adrenal glands that are not Conn's. Lipomas, fibromas, pheos, cortisol producing adenomas (adrenal Cushing's), metastatic cancer to name a few. There is a review of this if one searchs pubmed for incidentalomas. Bumps on the adrenal found incidentally when an belly CT or MRI shows up on that was not suspected. We should get the latest guidelines (from NIH I think) and put them on our site if they are not there.CE Grim MD On May 4, 2009, at 4:32 AM, arthur springer wrote:DAVID ... I was diagnosed with Conn's about 2 weeks ago but they said that I did not have a tumor on my adrenal gland. I go back to the specialist Tuesday and I am going to ask for a CT of my adrenals because one has not been specifically done as of yet--only my kidneys because of excessive uncontrollable high bp. Guest guest
Hi, Deb. Thanks for the reply. I go to see the doc tomorrow. My specialist is Dr. Batson hear in Hattiesburg. He has started me on Spiro but stated that he does not believe I have a tumor but does not know what is causing the PA. Have you or anyone else heard of what could cause PA other than the tumor? Thanks. From: Deborah <DJMackBJ@...>hyperaldosteronism Sent: Monday, May 4, 2009 6:55:58 AMSubject: Re: wow! > >Hi, thanks ya'll. Guest guest
PA is caused by an adenoma on one adrenal or by adenomas on both adrenals. It is caused by hyperplasia or one or both. Hyperplasia is simply the overgrowth of adrenals tissue (probably from many tiny adenomas). The only way to tell which side is over-producing or if both sides are over-producing is with AVS. Guest guest
3.2 pounds. I've lost 3.2 pounds since my last weighin. That's just awesome. I knew I had to lose a little, that's really way more than my expectations but I've really been watching the fat. I'm thrilled, but heartbroken too, I just lost Snowball, my flamepoint Siamese. I guess it was Leukemia after all, he just died. I'm going to go for a while. *~*~*~* "If I look down the road and see how far I have to go, I may get discouraged.
