lol thank you Laury,

Don't think I'll win a trip to Hawaii with my new pics, but in 3 months

Watch out!!! what is really weird is that in the pro shots it makes me look

wider than I really am. Hell, I came in at 8.1% body fat today in my fat

test! Unfortunately I was in the 7's 2 weeks ago. That's why I'm so mad at

myself.

Get ready for the Sarge to come out fighting and pushing EVERYONE here

harder in round 3. My goal this round is to be as vocal in here and making

everyone laugh like I did in round 7 of last year. I let personal problems

effect my Sarge mentality here due to feeling like half a man with my kidney

problems.

Well, if they have to take one out I won't care, I'll just tell them to

put it in marinade and I'll eat it for one of my protein meals LOLOLOL.

ROUND 3 is where I come out looking like Dolf Lundgren from Rocky 4!

Yeah Baby Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE SARGE

Sarge-

EWWW! Eating your kidney! You're so gross! (but it did make me laugh!)

I'm going to get my photos scanned at Kinkos tomorrow as you suggested and

then I'll get in touch with you to help me post them! You computer genius,

you!

You do look mighty darn awesome!!!

Guess what, my sister (in Denver) might be joining our wonderful group! she

is starting the program with her husband after seeing our transformation and

she asked for the group info. Hopefully you all can meet her soon.

Ok Sarge, I can't let this message go by without a few words....in the first

place, your acheivement of reaching 8 point anything is superb. Geez, before

you get too angry about not being in the 7's, spare a thought to us still in

the 20's and 30's...or are you still a crybaby...remember..waa waa waa!!

Now whoever made you feel like you were half a man because of your kidney

problems? That could only be someone with a weird mentality...or someone

like er...you! Kidneys do not make a man anymore than good elbows make a

woman. As for eating one of your own kidneys as a protein meal, man you are

disgusting...although who knows, it could taste real good with a bit of

charboiled knee. Wasn't Dolph Lundgren something else...back in the day?

YEAH BABY ROUND THREE..LET'S GO FOR IT. Leaner.

Hey Jen,

You are exactly right! My protein intake was up to about 250-300 grams

per day. Which we all know is hard enough to take in. The doctor found

protein in my urine which is a bad sign. The kidneys usually never pass

protein on unless you are far to overwhelming your body. I now make sure I am

taking in no more then 150-180 grams per day. I know this goes against what

we read. Most sources suggest 1 - 1.25 grams of protein per body pound when

you are trying to gain lean muscle mass. However, remember everyone is

different and I have found that I am still having to tweek my own program.

Hi patrick,

What does your doctor say about the amount of protein your eating as it

applies to the kidneys? I've heard that too much protein is really hard on

them...

*I* think this is not right. We give 80 year old people who have the same

surgery walkers and they wean off of it. There's no way that it can be

comfortable to go from cast to walking directly. And if she's not doing

things she first did, then she's too traumatized to try. So what if it

takes longer to wean her off the walker---she'll walk when she's good and

ready. And if she hurts, it won't be sooner for not having the support she

needs. (I'm opinionated).

Ammo for your debate: Kim's daughter used a walker and is now independent.

she still gets tired, but is doing OK I think.

YOU are doing a great job dealing iwth a VERY tough situation. But in my

opinion, your PT is wrong.

I'm also a soft-hearted one when my kid's in pain.

Andy's having painful times with his ears still. He doesn't hit himself,

but he can't make it through a day without being overly tired an last night

he just fell apart he could not cope without Tylenol. Not that he needs o

be with out Tylenol for me, I just didn't know to give him more.

But if he can't do that, I don't know how he'll get through school.

I always err on the side of " overprotection " with gentle support to push

forward. I'd rather have him feel successful.

Sorry if I blurted out a harsh opinion. That was wrong.

more cruel to baby her and have her become even more dependent on others.

At

this point, she won't even turn herself over in bed or crawl on the floor,

both of which she did the day she got her cast off the last time she had

this

surgery. >>

Gosh Maureen!! Poor baby!!!! I read Joan's response to your post and I

agree. I certainly realize hon, that we're not there and docs are supposed

to have your baby's best interests at heart........but Hell. I've been

carrying Maddie lately cause I feel so bad for her with her darned

reflux---it just wipes her out. The director at her school siad to me ... " I

can't believe you're carrying her " .....I said,,,, " Well, when I was in pain

last year with a ruptured disc, many people *carried* me--IMO it's human

nature " . I remember when my Dad was in the hospital in a coma for 4 months

and the *new* approach in the ICU seemed to be total ease of pain---whatever

that took. Made sense I thought. Again...IMO, no one can do well when

they're in pain. People might say that it could become a behavioral issue

later.....well, I say it's a hell of a lot easier dealing with a behavioral

issue later than having pain inflicted daily.

<<Anyway, I'm sorry I haven't been around lately to send supportive messages

as

so many of you have done for me these past few months. Hang in there,

everyone! And welcome to our new members. I hope you'll find, as I have,

that this is a great place to share, vent, seek information and inspiration,

and feel solidarity with others in similar circumstances.>>

Oh Please dear!!!! We know what life is like and that you're with us in

spirit always!! Giant {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} and I

How was Andy's first day back Joan? Did you send him in with some Tylenol?

No, it didn't seem harsh to me, Joan - just honest and hearfelt, which I

always appreciate. Thanks to all who wrote me back about the walker. Two

days after I wrote that e-mail started walking on her own! She's

taking baby steps and is not terribly stable, but SHE'S WALKING! I am so

relieved. (She is always teaching me to have faith - she does things in her

own time. You'd think I would learn the lesson one of these days!!) Her

right leg is shorter than her left leg now, which I think may be part of the

problem. The PT is going to talk to the doc about some kind of orthotic or

special shoe. Anyway, thanks for the concern and prayers. She's back on her

feet!!! :-)

The story is worth $20 by itself!

I wonder what King could do with it?

That picture totally made me drool. Even now, even knowing the calorie count, I

would order that, eat every bit of it, and then get a piece of peanut butter

cookie dough cheesecake for dessert. :-)

I'm glad that thing never happened to me where greasy food makes me sick. LOL
