Guest guest
FREEZING TEMPERATURES TONIGHT! Monday, 29 November 2010 You know what? It's snowing here in Southern California. No, I'm serious. Not exactly in Los Angeles, though. But there's a mountain range, just east of L.A. and lately, on a clear day, you can see the snow covered peak of Mt. Baldy! The ski season has already begun up there. Meanwhile, we may not have snow but here in Los Angeles but...it's been fr-fr-fr-freezing! (By our standards, anyway.) I even wore my micro fiber robe to bed last night. (I'm one of those people who doesn't like to sleep with the heat on. It dries out my skin.) During the day, our weather makes a pretty dramatic change. It warms up quite a bit by the time the sun is high in the sky and then, by nightfall, it gets cold again. As we all know, the weather often offers us some pretty dramatic changes. But let me ask you something. I'm wondering, have there been any dramatic changes lately...in you? I sit here at my desk writing these messages for you everyday to help keep you going. A couple of days ago, I wrote a message about Thanksgiving. I wonder if you ate well on Thanksgiving Day? I wonder if you took-to-heart the things I said about eating right and working out? Are you going to make those changes and stick to them for the rest of the year? See, to reach your goal, you've got to make changes. And I'm not talking about with your hair color, either. LOL. I'm talking about the kinds of changes you must make in life in order to lose weight and reach your goal. For instance, if you drive to work everyday and have made it a habit of stopping by some fast food place to pick up something to eat...that's gotta change! If you're spending too much time on the computer or watching TV, there's got to be a change in those habits, too. If all day long, you're thinking about your life and what a "bad hand" God dealt you, that line of thought is not going to inspire you to stay on program. That's right, all of your changes shouldn't be physical, you've got to make some mental changes, too. You've gotta start thinking positively because when you dwell on the bad times in your life, you certainly won't feel like making a healthy salad for yourself or doing some jumping jacks and pushups to get your body into better shape. Which leads me to this. You've got to change your schedule. You have to "make an appointment" with yourself to do your workouts...everyday. You may also have to change some of your meal times. See, eating dinner as late as 9:30PM is just not the way to go, not if you're trying to lose weight. You've gotta change the beverages you drink. Out with the sodas and...in with the water! Oh, I just love drinking my water. When people tell me they "hate water", I say back to them: "Uhhh, excuse me, but what has water ever done to you?" If you make these changes, you'll be so happy with yourself. But remember, you can't make them all overnight. It'll take about 30 days for your new schedule and lifestyle to lock itself into your brain. But make those changes and...stick with them! Yes, winter is almost upon us. With it, we're going see lots of dramatic changes in the weather. And if you follow this new lifestyle I've outlined, you'll also see some dramatic and good changes...in YOU!
