Guest guest
DOUBT Friday, 10 September 2010 ", I really need to lose this weight. It's just that I've tried so many times, for so many years and still...no success. I remember when I started on some of my past diets. At first, I felt really good but kept falling off each one of them in a matter of days or a few weeks. I've reached the conclusion that I just can't do this. I don't believe in myself anymore, . I guess I'm really...doubting myself." Oh yes, I've had those same feelings. I used to talk to myself just like the lady who wrote me those lines you read above. And maybe you've tried losing weight so many times for so long but just never had success, either. After a while, it kinda got to feeling like you were in a boxing ring, huh? You know, taking one jab after another from your opponent. And by now, you may be feeling just plain-old defeated. You know, it's a terrible feeling to doubt yourself. Because every minute you doubt yourself, it only upsets you more and more, both physically and mentally. It begins in your mind and doubt has the word can't built right into it. Doubting yourself causes you to feel numb. And as you continue doubting yourself in one area of your life, it won't be long before you begin doubting yourself in other areas of your life, too. So, how do you make the doubt go away? Well, truth is, all of the doubt never goes away, not really. A little doubt will always sneak into your mind. Hey, doubt is just a slice of human nature. But when a negative thought enters your mind, immediately think of two of your achievements. Refocusing your thoughts on something positive in your life can help chase those negative thoughts and feelings out of your mind. I'm writing a new book right now. And when I decided to write it, I did have some doubtful thoughts about whether I could do it or not. But I said to myself...Wait-a-minute! I've written books for over thirty years and I still have plenty to say. After reminding myself of that fact, I put pen to paper and began writing. And before you knew it, when I looked at the clock, I'd been writing for a couple of hours! I'm telling you something now that I've told you, it seems, a zillion times before. And that is, I don't doubt you. I believe you can do anything you set your mind to. I want you to think about that the next time you're feeling a little doubtful about your abilities. So please, try to keep your thoughts happy and positive always. I mean, you really do deserve the best life has to offer, don't you? Well, of course you do...no doubt about it!
