New Years Resolutions. I NEVER make New Years Resolutions, but this year, I am. Challenges ahead: 1. I want to lose the rest of my excess weight this year. I have been dieting since Sept of 2009 and I have half the weight off. The last pounds always seem to take the longest, but I am determined to finish this project and move onto the challenge of keeping it off. 2. Leaving my husband for a year is going to be the most difficult to deal with. However, I will have the chance to shave a year off of husband's trucking time and bring us closer to our goal of going back to Denmark by working for my daughter while her husband is deployed. I have the added bonus of spending significant time with my grandchildren and being a part of their lives before we leave. 3. Leaving my quiet life to one of chaos and noise with 4 children will unnerve me. I will have to learn good meditation techniques to calm myself and not use food or booze to do it for me. Loneliness will also be a huge factor on how I handle living in Hawaii for such a long time. My New Years Resolutions: 1. To to lose the rest of my weight, bringing me at least to under 160 pounds. 2. To learn mindful eating and meditation to add meaning and depth to my quest to practice healthful daily living. 3. To continue learning the teachings of the Buddha and to correct my thinking. 4. To stop buying dolls and searching for unnecessary things to buy, to learn to appreciate what I already have. Our life in Denmark will be sparse and dedicated to living well within our means, so I need to learn this now. 5. To continue my decluttering and simple life plans. --

Yes, it her. And yeah, it truly is a chance of a lifetime no matter how we look at it. And heck, if she can do a year without her hubby (deploying) then I can too. I think.....lol
