Guest guest
I'm Kathy, 44 years old and have over 100 lbs to lose. I'm not new to the journey and have had my share of success and failure. I've lost and gained quite a few pounds over the years and this time I want those numbers to fall and not go back up LOL.. I started (for the last time) on January 25th of this year and I've lost about 13 lbs, maybe more, so far. I've been searching for a group that I fit in so I don't feel so alone on my journey. I look forward to getting to know you all.
Guest guest
Welcome Kathy! You sound like me. My name is Stacey. I am 35, a homeschooling mom of 5. I live overseas. I started out at 305 lbs. In the past 5 weeks I've lost 18 pounds so far. It's great. I'm sure the weight loss will slow down in time though. But it feels good to have a start. I also joined so I wouldn't feel alone. Now you aren't anymore! StaceyOn Sat, Feb 12, 2011 at 3:59 AM, kathy1966tn <kathy1966tn@...> wrote: I'm Kathy, 44 years old and have over 100 lbs to lose. Guest guest
Thanks, Stacey! Congrats on the weight loss so far. You are doing great! I started out at 293.2 and I'm already slowing down so I'm going to step it up in the exercise department. Hopefully I'm getting a treadmill this weekend. It's not new but it's only been used a couple of times. I will try it and if it's not what I want I guess we will have to buy a new one. This time I feel differently about it all. I think this is it! I'm going to lose it and reach my goal! Before I had to go it alone and still cook/buy the things my hubby and son wanted. This time we are all trying it together. We are eating healthier than ever! Fruits, veggies, fish, turkey and chicken and replacing/cutting out the red meats and going for whole grains this time. My husband is diabetic and right before this change his sugar had gotten out of control and he had to increase his insulin to every meal. Just in a couple of weeks his readings have lowered drastically. We all take meds for blood pressure and both hubby and son have high cholesterol and I'm hoping soon those meds will be lowered and cut out all together. We can do this! We just have to stick to it and not give up. I'm glad I'm not alone. :-) Well, I've got to face my day. I'm wishing you all a wonderful one! Guest guest
Hi Kathy and any other new members I may have missed responding to this past couple of weeks. It's been a rough and busy 1-2 weeks for me. Look forward to getting to know you also. Hello all from new member I'm Kathy, 44 years old and have over 100 lbs to lose. Guest guest
Welcome, Kathy! I am 55, have been on my diet since Sept 2009. Sigh....at least another year to go. I started at 317 and today I weigh 231. My challenges are living on a truck for 5-6 weeks at a time, 1 week or less home-time where I eat differently and usually gain weight, and this year I will leave my husband to live with my daughter and her brood so she has help while her husband is deployed. That will be a huge challenge for me! From: kathy1966tn Sent: Friday, February 11, 2011 6:59 PM 100-plus Subject: Hello all from new member I'm Kathy, 44 years old and have over 100 lbs to lose. Guest guest
Hi , Wow! Congrats on the weight loss. You've done great!!! A few years back I lost 60 lbs and got down to 225. I don't really know why I allowed the pounds (plus some) to come back, but I regret it daily. At 225 I was feeling great and looking so much younger and better. I will be there again and this time I will be ever so careful not to let the pounds come back! So when life is challenging you please remember what happened to me and don't allow it to happen to you, but it sounds like you are doing great and I've no doubt you will continue to do so. We're a pretty quiet group right now, compared to some of the mainstream weight loss groups out there, but we're usually pretty encouraging. For people our size (and with our weight loss histories) even those 1 pound losses are a big deal when they *stay* off, even though we have a lot more to go.
