"RIGHT

HERE!"

Sunday, 29 August 2010

When I go to

Slimmons, there's always someone who'll come up

to me, grabs a part of their anatomies, points

to it and says to me, ", I want to

lose some weight...right here!"

And I'm telling you, I've heard this from my

students since the very beginning of Slimmons.

They want to lose weight...in that one particular

spot.

So, what is spot

reducing? Well, just what it says. You

have a little lump of fat here or a lump there

and you want to lose the fat, from that one

particular part of your body. And oh, there're

all kinds of creams on the market that promise

to reduce specific parts of your body. But I

have to tell you, there really is no such thing

as spot reducing.

When you lose weight, the right way, many of the

"problem spots" you worry about do go away as

you drop the pounds. You'll start losing inches

from every part of your body. But there will be

some spots that you just can't seem to reduce as

much as you'd like. But the shape of those

parts of your body may be more a result of genetics

as anything else. See, you may have your

grandmother's hips or your mother's thighs. So

you have to accept some of the physical things

about your body that just won't change...as much

as you'd like.

Oh yes, there are a few spots of my own body

that I wasn't crazy about. But I really don't

zero in on those parts of my body when I look in

the mirror. I check myself out from head to toe

and compliment myself for looking as good as I

do at my age.

When I lost all of my

weight, I had some extra skin on parts of my

body sagging from my arms, chest and belly. But

I didn't want to go the plastic surgery route to

have that skin removed. Years ago, someone told

me that if I began lifting weights, I could tone

those areas of my body I wasn't so pleased with

and end up looking much better.

So I began toning my biceps, triceps, chest and

back by lifting free weights and using toning

cords. When I first started this routine, let

me tell you, I couldn't do a lot but...I

kept trying! And every time I did one of

my toning workouts, I felt better. Within six

weeks, I was beginning to see a real difference

in those problem areas. I was actually

beginning to see muscles! And to this

very day, I tone three times a week...every

week! I've done sit-ups and crunches

every morning for over six years. And it's

really helped me like what my stomach looks like

today.

So please, don't fall

for those spot reducing claims. Just eat

wisely, do your cardio, get your toning workouts

in and you'll see your body reduce...all

over!

Love,
