Guest guest
I just have to share: DS18 got his acceptance letter to Washington State University (Class of 2015??) He got his first scholarship too =D This is his first choice, so I doubt he'll even open any other letters LOL!! Well, I will "tell" him he should, so he can "decline" their offers so they know how many folks are showing up in the fall.

Guest guest
Thanks Sue. I think the scholarship is "just" from the college for grades, etc LOL because he didn't letter or anything in track or cross country. WSU is in Pullman, WA which is about 70-something miles from Spokane, so not really a good daily commute. I'm sure he'll be heading for dorm life. What I save in fuel will be spent in room and board, but at least I will have a small amount of sanity for him not being on the highway daily... Guest guest
That is about how far away our oldest son was when he was at college. It is a good distance. Close enough to help if needed; but far enough away to give him some independence. Dacia<>< "In that day the deaf will hear the Word . . . Many times I wished Henry dormed. He was even asked to be a Resident Advisor and would have had *free* room and board but he preferred to live at home and make the 90 minute public transportation commute each way (even though the distance is only 10 miles by car), coming home at night from Newark, NJ, not exactly the safest city to be in. Too many nights the trains weren't running and we would have to trudge out there at 10pm to pick him up. If he lived on campus all he would have had to do was walk across the quad.
