GOOD-BYE

Well, at the end of

this day...wave good-bye to August!

Today, I was thinking how, when winter begins, I

always receive what seems like thousands of

E-mails from people saying "Oh, the weather

outside is frightening. It's so bad outside,

there's just no way I'm gonna get any exercise

in! I'll just wait 'til the weather

improves. When the spring and warmer

weather return, I'll get back in to my

exercise routine."

Uh, huh...I see!

Well, my question is, during the summer months

of June, July and August this year, did you

exercise faithfully? I mean we certainly had

warmer weather this summer, a lot warmer.

The skies were blue and filled with big white

fluffy clouds. You could go outside and take

your walk, a hike, ride your bicycle or even boogie-board

during the months of summer.

Well, I want ask again...did you? Did

you make time every day this summer to get your

workouts in? Oh wait, while I'm thinking about

it, I have a new weight loss program for

you. With it, you can eat only on

the days you exercise. And on the days

you don't exercise and your body is

not particularly active, then you can only sip

water all day long. My-oh-my, would the pounds

ever drop off you on that diet!

Look, none of us are gonna be perfect with the

calories. That's why really moving

these bodies of ours is so important. You'll

burn those extra calories and...not gain weight!

When I walk into

Slimmons tonight, there'll be students who just

about had to drag themselves into the studio.

And I can tell, just by looking at them, they

didn't eat healthy today either. Now, I have to

tell you about one of the gifts God gave me.

See, I have a very sensitive sense of smell. I

can walk in a room and as I pass someone, I can

tell if they had a cheeseburger or enchilada

recently. And when I smell that despicable fat

and those greasy odors, I push them to workout

even harder. Hey, not just a hundred

jumping jacks for them but more like 400!

I'm king of the studio! LOL.

Seriously, if you exercised everyday for the

past three months, you'd feel and see a real

difference in your body as, today, you say

good-bye to the summer. In fact, you could have

lost somewhere between 12-15 pounds

this summer! And let me tell you, when you get

your daily workouts in, you really do see and feel a

great difference in your body.

I see it at all the time at Slimmons. People

seem to just melt away right in front of my eyes

as they come in and sweat regularly taking

class. They lose weight and inches and...they

look great!

There's this one lady who comes to class and has

exercised faithfully, 500

days-in-a-row! There's another lady who has a

300 days-in-row exercise record. And tell me,

how about you? How many days-in-a-row

have you exercised? Hey remember, the body

doesn't take a break. It needs to move...everyday.

So as we say good-bye to the summer and the

month of August, we say hello to a new month.
