Guest guest
YOUR REWARDS Sunday, 10 October 2010 Did you know that you get rewarded when you lose weight? Rewarded? By whom, you ask? Well, by your body! That's right, when you drop the extra pounds you've put on, everything from your head to your toes works better. When you drop those pounds, one of your rewards is that you feel better in the clothes you wear. And you're also rewarded with the reflection you see of yourself in the mirror. Oh, but the rewards go way beyond that. In fact, I want to talk to you today about just a few of those rewards on this Sunday. First off, weight-loss adds to your life expectancy. Yep, when you feel stronger because you are stronger, you live longer. Even a modest weight-loss of about 5 pounds yields a significant reduction in your blood pressure which reduces the risk of a stroke or heart attack. People suffering from asthma who lost an average of 30 pounds showed improved lung function and had reduced episodes of asthma attacks. As a matter of fact, I suffered from asthma when I was a child. But once I lost my weight, I never had to take asthma medication again. And talk about fabulous lungs, you know...I've got 'em! Do you have any idea how many overweight people suffer from sleep apnea? And many of these people have to wear a CPAP machine so they can sleep overnight. But when they lose weight, many of them don't ever have to use that machine again. Now how wonderful is that! Weight-loss also helps improve your circulation, keeping your blood flowing smoothly through your veins. That makes the inside of your body function more efficiently and feel younger. And one of the greatest rewards of weight-loss is that it helps defeat depression. When you're sad about your weight, that feeling of sadness spreads to other areas of your life as well. You end up walking around feeling sad and blue all the time. Some days you're so down, you don't even want to get out of your bed to face the new day. It's as if a dark cloud were following you around all day. Depression crushes hope. And you need that hope if you expect to get on plan and reap the rewards that losing the weight has in store for you. So, how many of you haven't been on program for a while? (Oh, that many?) Well, please allow me to give you a little advice. Why don't you start today making a plan to lose the weight you need to lose. Then you'll begin enjoying the benefits your improved health will bring your way. I know from personal experience that it feels so good to be healthy. And I really want you to have that feeling, too. So, please...get going. Your rewards are waiting! Love,
