Guest guest
WHERE YA' GOIN'? Saturday, 03 July 2010 It's vacation time! You can even feel it in the air. Those 90 degree temps mean it's summer and, yep...vacation time, my friends. So, may I ask...where ya' goin' this year? Here on my website, you can also become a member of my Clubhouse. And one of the features of Clubhouse membership is our weekly live chat where we all discuss a specific subject. See, I E-mail my Clubhouse members beforehand and give them a little homework assignment to complete before we get started. They then E-mail their homework to me and I review every one of them. And on Monday night, we discuss our homework. This week, I asked everyone two questions. The first was: What's the most interesting and fun vacation you've ever had?One of our members told us that she celebrated her 50th birthday by going to Egypt. She brought her daughter along and they had a great time. I'll bet that was a fun trip. I hear that the Egyptians are fabulous people. I'd love to visit Egypt someday just to visit the Pyramids. Oh, what amazing works of architecture they are, especially considering they were built thousands of years ago. Another Clubhouse member shared how her parents took her to Disneyland when she was only six years-old. My parents took my brother and I to California the year Disneyland first opened back in the 50s. I loved it so much, I didn't want to leave. They had to drag me out of the Magic Kingdom. While we were there, my mother bought me a Mouseketeer hat and I wore it until the ears fell off! LOL.And another member told me that every summer she'd visit her grandparents at their cabin on Lake Michigan. Her grandmother loved gardening and she remembers going out and helping her pick cucumbers, tomatoes, string beans and eggplant. Later, she'd sit in the kitchen and watch as her Grandma cooked all of the fresh veggies they'd just picked from the garden. (It sounds like a regular Heidi story, doesn't it? LOL.) Other members told me they've taken vacations to Scotland, France and Germany. But the favorite vacation spot, hands down, was Hawaii. Lots of people get married there and spend their blissful honeymoons on the island's romantic beaches. I've been to Hawaii many times and it truly is a beautiful tropical paradise. No matter where you look in the Aloha State, you come face-to-face with nature's beauty. Once while I was there, I actually took a helicopter ride...over a volcano. Beautiful? Yes. But I'll admit, it was a bit frightening, too. Let's just say that helicopter got a little too close to the lava flow for me!The second question I asked my Clubhouse members was: If you could go anywhere you wanted on vacation, where would you go? A lot of them said they would love to visit Los Angeles so they could take class with me at Slimmons. (I think they were just buttering me up! LOL.)Memories are great and today you should think about some of the favorite vacation memories from your past. And...what about this year? Where ya' goin'? Well, where ever you do, I hope you have one great time!Love,
