JUST LOOK AT YOURSELF!

Tuesday, 18 May 2010

When you stay on program & eat healthy foods, when you get in your workouts regularly, when you stay focused & positive...you begin to lose weight. And as you do, you also begin noticing changes in your body when you look in the mirror.

You stand there, turn to the left, then to the right and...you simply can't believe your eyes! Each month you stay on program, you shrink just a little bit more. You notice bulges that once showed up on different parts of your body, (especially through your clothing)...gone! You're now able to do things you haven't been able to do in years. You even go buy a tape measure so you can chart your new body measurements.Let's see...there are two inches gone from around your chest. Five inches have disappeared from your waist. And three inches, from each of your thighs well, they're gone! You've also begun to see muscles take up residence on parts of your body where fat used to live. And oh, you really start loving what you're seeing when you look in that mirror. And I want you to love what you see. But I also want you to realize what's happening that you can't see, with the naked eye. Dramatic changes are taking place not just on the outside of your body...but on the inside, too!

Before you began losing weight, all of those extra pounds were giving your poor-old heart a tough job pumping blood throughout your body, like it's supposed to do. But not anymore. You now have a stronger heart which means you have much improved circulation. You now have stronger, clearer, healthier lungs which means you're breathing better. And all of your body's internal organs are now working more efficiently. Plus, your metabolism has increased. Why, it's almost like you've taken a dip in the Fountain of Youth!I truly believe that when you take better care of yourself, you think better thoughts, too. You just become a more positive person. (That's what happened with me.)

When you lose weight, you're being kinder to your bones. See, when you have to carry a lot of excess weight, it adds a lot of stress to your bones.

And here's another benefit of losing that weight...you sleep better! I'm telling you, I used to have rough and rugged times sleeping when I was obese. But that all changed when I took all of the pressure from my body, along with all of those extra pounds. When you feed yourself healthy foods, like lots of fruits and vegetables, your body rewards you by giving you improved health. And when you get your workouts in everyday, you are, in many ways, reversing the aging process. And who doesn't want that, huh?So the next time you walk up to your full-length mirror and see the fruits of your labor, how good you look on the outside, think about how good your body is also looking...on the inside!Love,

You stand there, turn to the left, then to the right and...you simply can't believe your eyes!  Each month you stay on program, you shrink just a little bit more.  I am going through a phase where I am doubting the loss that I thought I saw before.  I am not looking in the mirror these days.  However, today, while the truck was being worked on, the truckstop had a barber and I told husband to go ahead and get a haircut.  I usually cut his hair, but when we finally get home, I will be busy and don't want to deal with it.  So he got shorn and then he suggested that I get my hair cut too.  Well, since I chopped off 30 inches, I had uneven ends, so I said, sure.  I have not had my hair cut in a shop in over 15 years!  She washed my hair and messaged my scalp and it felt so good!  I had forgotten what it is like to have that done.  She did a wonderful job and I feel as though I am "cared for" in my appearance.  After several very upsetting days, I am glad to have a touch of pampering. -- Ann H.My blogs are on my profile: elisaannh
