Hello Daisy

I'm trying to stay away from sugar and macaroni products. Also trying to limit fried foods. And trying to watch the size of my portions. Doing research on dieting and weight loss. My next step is going to be a list of starchy vegetables I need to measure / weigh, and a list of vegetables that are low in calories and I don't need to worry about. Trying to make my calories count nutrition wise and not eat a lot of empty calorie. That's about it.

Here's you a tip for oven frying. Use your broiler pan.I always do! I don't fry very often,I usually throw stuff on my broiler pan and throw it in the oven and it comes out looking fried. I do my breakfast meats the same way, especially bacon.I think it cuts the grease really good and I don't have to drain the meat once it's done cause it comes out that way!I changed my eating habits a long time ago,to eat in moderation and portion control so I am set by way of "diet."I exercise 5 days a week. I do WATP (Walk Away The Pounds) weight lifting and Tae Bo. I was doing a kettlebell workout but let it slide and just upped my cardio. I'm thinking my body has adjusted to WATP cause this last workout wasn't challenging like it

had been.Good news is,I found a couple more exercises I can do to keep burning calories.I can't say I lose weight every week.It seems like I don't, except every few months or something, even though I work out, really push myself. I have no idea what all that's about, but I bet any one of you would lose tons of weight if you worked as hard and as often as I do.For a while there (and sometimes still do) I did 2 complete workouts back to back, either WATP (3 mi walk-40 min.) and weight lifting (1-1/2 hrs) or Tae Bo (30 min.)and kettlebell work(10 min.-not long but challenging.)I am trying so hard to lose weight, get fit and make exercise a daily healthy habit, sometimes it

get discouraging when I work so hard and barely "see" any results, but I persevere cause I really, really want to lose weight, be fit and make exercise a daily habit.Maybe some day I'll lose all this extra weight as long as I keep working at it. :)You are way ahead of me when it comes to weight loss! I've only dropped 3lbs! and that's over a 4 month period!!Remember to work hard, push yourself till you can't go no more, catch your breath, and do it all over again. That's how you'll burn more calories than your eating.I actually do, do this.I work as hard as I can, push myself to failure and do it all over again. I've gained some muscles and I am more fit than when I started, though I have no explanation why I'm not losing weigh steadily.I am working hard. As long as you keep working your diet and

exercise program, you will reach goal in time flat!! Keep up the good works!! :)Daisy

HI Sue D, Thanks sounds like a wonderful strategy. I have a problem digesting wheat, I can eat a little bit of it now and then, but too many meals or days in a row with wheat and I get sick. So I don't bother with the wheat foods I don't really care for. Pasta is definitely one of the wheats I can let go of completely. I use rice or bean thread noodles instead.

I love fried foods, as long as it is in coconut oil or olive oil. I don't coat foods with batters or breading, nor deep fry, but cooking in a iron skillet with oil is how I cook most dinners.

Starchy veggies for me is also limited. I try to eat yams over potatoes and l love carrots and winter squash. The thing with potatoes is that there is so much more nutrition in the "coloured" root veggies. Sometimes will have potatoes, but not if I have other choices.

Having these kinds of ideas ahead of time really help when making choices of what to eat.
