Guest guest
Sorry I have not been on to tell about the wedding. Everything was pretty wonderful. They had a DJ who was also a magician (and a good one at that!) who kept us all entertained with his magic acts and with the music. He also had 2 doves who were a part of his act. They had a photographer too of course. Don’t know as I got in many shots as for some reason (instinct I guess) everytime he went to take a shot of me I turned away! I really don’t know why, it was totally unconscious and unintentional. I sure know I look better than I have in years probably better than I ever will again so that should have been my golden opportunity to have some nice pics of me too! Oh well, too late now. Now for the menu: For hors d’oeuvres they had jumbo shrimp and cocktail sauce, pepperoni, cheese and crackers, mixed fruit with optional whipped topping. Then for the main course they had prime rib, chicken, mashed potatoes, toss salad, rolls. They spent a lot of money on the whole affair. The “kids” paid for a good share of it and even borrowed money to pull off such a spectacular event. Hated to see them go into debt for it though. They wanted to have it on the day that they did as it was their 3rd anniversary of their first date but unfortunately that meant that a lot of the invited guest ended up not coming as it was on a Friday. It did rather disappoint and upset me that many who have RSVP’ed that they would attend did not show up as of course they had planned on food for them and so spend a lot of extra money that they did not need to spend. I would hate to say how much they must have spent per guest. It also was upsetting to me as many of those people were family who I insisted my son invite so he had to take some of his friends off of the list of invitees as they were trying to keep the list at a certain number (which I forget now what it was). I am sure his friends would have show up (and brought a gift too) where these family member did not show nor send a gift either. I also know they did not forget as some I had reminded and others I found out later just decided to change their plans and do something else. I am not saying this just because it was my son’s wedding but I have been to a lot of weddings over the years and this was the most elaborate one I have ever attended. It was very well planned and was obvious that a lot of thought, effort and money had gone into it. Darlene
