KEEPER

Monday, 23 August 2010

Are you a keeper? Do you want to

be one? Wait, maybe I should explain to you what my

definition of a "keeper" is. To do that, I have to

start out by telling you that the so-called "experts"

claim that 95% of the people who're successful at

losing weight...are not successful at

keeping it off. Wow! 95%? That's a big

number!

So using the experts formula, that

would mean only 5% of the people who're

successful at losing weight are also successful at

keeping the weight off. Therefore, they're saying

that only 5% of people who lose weight fit my

definition of a keeper. Hey, I don't like

that number!

Over the years, I'm proud to say that I've met many

thousands of people who have lost the weight

and kept it off. That's right,

I've met and I know plenty of keepers! So,

how does a person become a keeper?

Well, first of all, keepers are patient with

themselves. Their goals are not to lose the weight...fast,

(like we talked about last week). Keepers give

themselves time to lose the weight. And

they lose it by teaching themselves the right way

to lose weight.

Keepers also make the right

choices when it comes to the foods they eat. They've

taken the time to teach themselves about eating the

right mix of foods, in the right amounts from all six

of the major food groups. Their refridgerators are

filled with low-fat food products and their cabinets

have been cleared of all those salty and fattening

processed foods.

And of course, keepers have made exercise a regular

part of their lives. They get in their toning and

cardio exercises every week. I'd say the

average keeper devotes 6-8 hours a week to getting

their workouts in. They know how important exercise

is to their new healthy lifestyles and so...they

don't skip their workouts.

Keepers work hard staying focused on their weight-loss

efforts. They don't allow themselves to get down

about the job at hand. And when they do get down,

they turn on the positive thoughts in their minds and

concentrate on getting those attitudes locked on I

can do this!

So...are you a keeper? Have you lost the

weight you need to lose and work hard everyday keeping

it off? Do you?

Or are you one of those people who

fall into the 95% category those "oh-so-smart" experts

claim most of us are in? And hey, wouldn't it be

great to turn that 95% number around so that the

opposite of what the experts say is the case becomes

true?

Well, join the keepers

and let's prove those "experts" wrong! You can lose

the weight you want to lose and, yes...you can

keep it off. Get ready and get started on you

way to being...

A keeper!

Love,
