Guest guest
SHOCK TREATMENT! Thursday, 29 July 2010 I received an E-mail the other day from a lady named , telling me how good she felt she was doing on her weight-loss program. But also told me this... ", I don't get on the scale at all. I just can't do that to myself, it drive me crazy. See, I can tell I'm losing weight because my clothes are fitting me better."Over the years, lots of women have wrote and told me similar stories. First of all, it's amazing to me how many people refuse to ever even get on the scale. (And yes, scale manufacturers are suffering as a result.) Some people don't even have a bathroom scale in their homes. Now as for me, I've had a scale in my bathroom my entire life!Do you remember how old you were when you first started getting on the scale and weighing yourself? I was only six years-old. (How sick is that?) Now there're other people who own a bathroom scale but, like , only use it as a "prop"...as a bathroom accessory. If you were to get on your knees and look closely at those "prop scales," you'd probably see a thick layer of dust covering the numbers. That's not good because a scale covered with dust will make it look like you weigh more! (Hey, every ounce counts, LOL!)If you're moving and sweatin' more, inches could have shifted on your body which could affect the way your clothes fit. You may see your clothes fitting better and assume it's because you're losing weight. But it's still very important to get on your scale so you can keep an accurate account of your weight. Because you see, the scale never lies but...you can lie to yourself, about your weight. You may be walking around the block a few times a week or doing a regular DVD workout routine in your living room. But the truth may be that you're still eating too much to effectively lose weight. And you know what often happens when you get on the scale after not weighing yourself for a long time. See, you've been in denial about your weight for so long that when you finally take those couple of steps up onto your scale, you get a...Shock Treatment! Yes, you really are shocked by the numbers you see. And let's face it, when you've gained a lot of weight, those numbers aren't easy to look at, are they? Oh, you can't believe it... "I just don't believe what I'm seeing! Let me get off and try again. I know there has to be something wrong with this old scale. I haven't got on it in so long. Yeah, that's what it is...it's gotta be broken. Okay, one more try..."And oh, oh. You get back on and...the numbers stay the same! So how long has it been since you've taken those two little steps up onto your bathroom scale? A couple of weeks or maybe even a couple of years? Okay, today's the day you may need to be a little shocked. But, if the numbers you see on the scale do shock you, let them be your motivation to move on and get to work losing the weight you know it's time to lose. And oh yeah, before you get on that scale, remember what I said about the dust!Love,
