TOO POOPED TO...

Thursday, 17 June 2010

Oh, I know how hard you all work. Hey, you don't do just one job...or even two. It's more like, on a typical day, you have 10 jobs! From the time you get out of bed in the morning to the time you get back into bed at night, you spend lots of hours getting so many things done...everyday!

Besides a full-time job, you have laundry, house cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking and dishes to do following a meal. And on top of all that, you often have to be a chauffeur for your family, getting the kids to band, soccer and cheerleader practice. Your kids might even need a ride to the mall or to their friend's house. And who're they gonna call? You!On lots of days, you don't have time to sit down and relax. You write and tell me that oh-so-often, you're simply too pooped...to exercise! After such a busy and tiring day, you barely have the strength to stand up, let alone get in a workout! Your feet hurt, your knees and lower back hurt plus you've got aches and pains in your shoulder. And when it comes to your mental state, you've used your brain all day long so your mind actually feels tired, too! But do you know what really helps all that tiredness? Well...exercise!

Look, there's got to be some time set aside in your day where you must get in your workouts. Personally, I prefer the mornings. I love getting up, doing my stretches and cardio then getting in some toning with my sit-ups and pushups. And yes, I get up early to get my workout in. So there's one option for you. Another option is to take part of your lunch hour and dedicate it to moving your body. You can do some walking indoors or out. Or if there's a stairway where you work, you can spend a little time climbing those stairs. But the bottom line is to get in some cardio work by getting that body of yours moving. And let's not forget about your mind. Exercise will help get the blood flowing to your brain. You'll be more alert and mentally energetic, thanks to your working out.

And if you haven't exercised all day, you're gonna have to get it done during the evening. When you get in for the evening, take a 15-minute break and lay down in bed. After that break, make up your mind that you're now going to get your workout done. I know many of you have treadmills or stationary bikes in your home. Use them to get in a good cardio workout before sitting down for dinner. And believe me, if you exercise before dinner, you'll only want to put the healthiest foods on your plate after that good-for-you workout! And here's one more thing for you to think about. If you want to be successful at losing weight and keeping it off, you've got to make exercise a dedicated part of your daily routine. So did you exercise already this morning? Or will you take a walk at lunchtime or maybe dance with me in a Sweatin' DVD before dinner? I know how much you want to lose this weight. Just remember, exercise is a very important part of reaching your weight-loss goal and keeping yourself in the best of shape for the rest of your life.Love,
