Guest guest
"JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS..." Sunday, 25 April 2010 Jingle all the way! Oh what fun, it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh! It's the 25TH of April! Y'all had better be getting your ornaments out. There're only eight more months 'til Christmas! So, are you getting excited yet? I am...I'm already looking over holiday menus! Now let me ask you something. In the first four months of this year, you could have lost 20 pounds...or more. There's a gentleman who comes to class at Slimmons who's lost exactly 20 pounds. He told me how, during a recent trip to the supermarket, he picked up a 20-pound bag of kitty litter and couldn't believe how much it weighed. He'd lost that much weight and, as he could now see...20 pounds was heavy! If you've lost 20 pounds so far this year, you see the weight-loss in your face, your neck and maybe in your arms and upper body. You probably also see the results of that weight-loss in your legs and thighs. Now I hate to keep bringing this up. But do you remember how you felt on January 1st? Do you remember how excited you were about the possibility of dropping weight in this new year, once and for all? Do you remember writing down your resolutions and feeling hopeful about them? Well, have those feelings lasted in your mind these past four months? Or did you detour a bit? You know, did you miss a turn and take the "wrong way home" toward your goal? Did you let the emotions in your life take over and influence what you put on your fork? Did you not measure your foods? Did you eat out more than you should? And what about your workouts? Did you make time to get your workouts in everyday over the past four months? Or did you come up with lots of excuses not to get your workouts in?Have you been happy over the past four months with yourself and with your life? Have you enjoyed your job, family and friends. Have you enjoyed being you?I always remind you that we're put here on this earth for many reasons. And one of those reasons is to enjoy our lives and to be happy and healthy. Some of you reading this message today aren't very healthy. And when you're not healthy, it's safe to say that you're not very happy, either. I need you to regain focus on what's really important to you. And that's why I do these Christmas messages every month. If the past four months have not been great ones for you, there's still time to make them better. If you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on the right track, I believe the next eight months can and will be successful ones for you. Uh, uh, uh...no thinking about the past! I want you to think about the right now...the present! Stay on program the next eight months and you could lose 40 pounds or more. Then that could be you going to the supermarket, picking up a 40-pound bag of kitty litter and thinking to yourself....Wow! Look at how much weight I've lost! (Now don't hurt your back picking it up! LOL.)So come on! Get excited about Christmas and how good you can look eight months from today. Visualize how you'll look and feel come December 25th, 2010. What size would you be if you lost 40 pounds by then? What will your hair look like? What activities will you do with your family and friends that you couldn't do last year? Think about how comfortable you'll feel and how good you'll look dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh. Get to work now! Christmas will be here...before you know it!Love,
