Guest guest
I REACHED MY GOAL WEIGHT! Wednesday, 21 July 2010 Yesterday, I received three Emails from people announcing to me that they'd reached their goal weights. Each of their E-mails were so positive and filled with enthusiasm. They were all so proud of themselves and the good news is that each of them lost their weight...the healthy way! I reached my own weight-loss goals several times in my life. But, each time, I reached those goals...the wrong way! I used diet pills and took diet shots. I cut my calories so drastically that I ended up starving myself. I also had some episodes of bulimia and anorexia. When I did all of those dangerous and unhealthy things to my body, I even ended up getting way below my ideal weight. And when I got thin, I didn't feel like my newly "achieved" thinner body was going to last unless I kept doing the unhealthy things I'd done to lose weight. But one day, I got smart! I began educating myself about eating healthy and on the importance of regular exercise. And when I reached my goal weight the right way, I did a little happy dance to celebrate. Now the three people who wrote telling me about their success, also told me how they achieved those successes. They drank lots of water. They each exercised anywhere from 5-7 days a week. And they did great exercises like swimming, cycling, cardio workouts and even weightlifting. Each of them told me how they kept lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in their homes while cutting back on the processed foods they once ate. They all told me that as they began losing weight, they began liking themselves more, too. And one more thing they all told me is that they felt younger and had more energy since losing the weight! So, have you reached your goal weight...the right way? Or have you been doing like I used to do, wanting to lose the weight so badly that you played dangerous games with your body and health? Please know this: If you use some of the weight-loss crutches I've used in the past, you'll never know what it feels like to climb to the top of that mountain and...see the view from the new you. And by the way, there's one more thing these three successful people told me: "I will never gain back the weight I worked so hard to lose!" You know what? I think everyone should reach their goal weights and have that same thought. And you know wanna know something else? It's a very realistic thought. It's a promise you can keep! But...if you add extra calories to each of your meals. If you snack too often on the wrong foods. If you drink less water and don't get your exercise in an often as you should, then "it" happens. (And I'm sure you know what "it" is.) You gain a quarter pound, then a pound, then five pounds and, sadly, in time, all of the weight you worked so hard to lose has come back. Don't let that happen to you! (I'll have more on this subject tomorrow.)But for now, remember that you have to stick to your guns once you reach your goal. And that means the healthy lifestyle you began living to reach your goal has to be part of your life...for the rest of your life!Love,
