Guest guest
STOP...IN THE NAME OF LOVE! Thursday, 06 May 2010 There you are with weight to lose and you know...that weight is really bothering you, too. You've been trying to lose weight on-and-off for years now...maybe even for decades. And the bottom line is that you know what it takes to lose this weight. Oh yes...you do! Ahhhh, but you also know that your love of food is your "big love squeeze." So, on one particularly pretty Saturday afternoon, you've done all of your shopping at the mall and it's time for a break. And oh look, there's the food court! You start thinking...Yeah, I'm a little hungry. Just what shall I have today. And your little dance begins as you go circling the food court...Okay, what will it be today? Even though I have 80 pounds to lose, this food sure does look good. Oh, it can't do that much harm! And besides, I've done plenty of walking this afternoon! There's Mc's...oh, I just love their Quarter-Pounder with Cheese. And everyone knows, they make the best fries in town. Hmmm, Chinatown Cafe. Love their fried shrimp and their potstickers are the best I've had anywhere. Plus they give you those three wonderful dipping sauces with every order. Sub City...talk about great sandwiches! They make the biggest subs anywhere. I love that Club Sandwich of theirs, the one that has four kinds of cheese, a pile of deli meats, and it's stacked so high, I have to really squeeze it to fit into my mouth! Boy, is it ever good! And I almost forgot that pizza place over by Zale's. I love their deep dish pizza. It's about four-and-a-half inches high and filled with cheese, meatballs, more cheese, pepperoni, more cheese and topped with their homemade tomato sauce. Okay, that's it...pizza it is. I can't wait to sink my teeth into that crust! But wait! Stop in the name of love...be--fore you hurt your heart! I mean, here you are with 80 pounds to lose. Yet you can't help yourself and end up cruising the food court. That's dangerous! You should have walked by that food court...not into it. Like I said, it's dangerous territory. All of those foods begin talking to you. And...you start listening to them! But you've got to freeze for a second. Don't even take that cash out of your purse! You need to ask yourself these questions: Why am I doing this when I know I have weight I want and need to lose? These are the very foods that got me fat in the first place. And they'll only make me fatter if I continue to eat them. How many calories, how much sodium and how many grams of fat are in those foods? Well, I don't need them! I'm gonna be stronger than those foods and, right now...I'm walking out of here!Listen up, everybody. Even when you lose all of the weight you need to lose, you will still....adore food. That adoration just doesn't go away. It sticks with you...and for the rest of your life, too. So please, you've got to stay on program. And you have to be careful, especially when you leave home. See, for some reason, food seems to look better and becomes even more tempting when someone else cooks it for you. So remember what I said. Inside you is great strength and you have to call on that strength, using it to stop yourself from overeating the foods that are causing so much pain in your life.So stop it...in the name of self-love!Love,
