Guest guest
Today, the company I work for had a "major restructuring" and maybe 3% of the workforce lost their jobs. Immediately. Do not stop. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200 dollars. WOW. The way this impacted my team: 3 people were IMMEDIATELY led to their desk after meeting with management, watched while they boxed up their personal belongings and walked out of the building, minus their employee ID and access cards. HOLY MOLY. We saw it happen to two, didn't know it affected the third (the remaining Production Lead), we just figured he was involved in the meetings we saw taking place. I am really glad that management seemingly "likes" me and my clients and co-workers too. I am sure there were several factors involved in the decision making process and am very glad and thankful that I am still employed. I immediately inherited *several* clients and am (of course) going to be busy and stressed for the next several weeks. After we get through a few weeks, we can make assessments of how we need to change things and can redistribute the clients if we need to. We just had to make an immediate plan. I want to eat. I do not want to exercise. I might not exercise tonight because my back is killing me from all of the stress, etc. I *will* remember that no matter what it is, it is not worth stuffing my face over. Just had to share. My head's spinning, as you can well imagine. This is TWO major changes that have affected me/my team at work in the last 6-8 weeks that I have made it through. I do not feel safe or secure in my employment any longer. in WA
