Guest guest
Yesterday was so messed up for timing. We delivered the nigh before but they had no trailer for us at the Hershey plant. So we sat waiting for a trailer all day. We finally got one in the late afternoon and then dispatched to pick up a Kraft load which meant driving until 2 am. It’s these night drives after being up all day that are so gruesome. Not only for tiredness, but because it means way to long to go without eating. I was determined to try. Husband wanted coffee at about 10 pm so I made it strong and while I made him some bread and cheese to go with his coffee, I held back on fixing anything for me. I felt a twinge of resentment, but tried to keep it positive in my head. Because the coffee was strong I had to double up my teaspoons of creamer, but that is the only extra calories I had. After sipping the coffee, I wasn’t hungry anymore and the feeling passed. Interesting. When we finally got to bed, I felt good, no grumbly tummy, no nausea. I smiled as I fell asleep….I made it! This isn’t to say my intention is never to eat again on a night drive. I don’t want to make “diet absolutes†anymore. This time, I am flexible and more concerned about what I can do for myself in a given moment and not making rules I cannot adhere to in every circumstance. I cannot fail this diet, because it is what I need to do with the tools and resources I have or can create. Life changes constantly, I have to be able to work through the different obstacles. I simply feel good that on this one occasion I was able to do it and like it. This morning, I thought I would add a current breakfast photo as I have been concentrating on the other meals. So here is my full day’s meals, as they are for the next few weeks. Breakfast – 363 calories Lunch – 288 calories Dinner (2 servings) – 281 calories Total is 934 calories, 58gr fat, 33gr carbs, 11gr fiber (net 22 carbs) 68gr protein. Our schedule today is messed up again, breakfast at 9 am, lunch will probably be 3 pm and dinner at 9 pm, so hopefully I can skip any 4th meal on tonight’s drive. I’ll deal with it when I come to it. -- Posted By elisaannh to The Little Bowl at 6/11/2010 08:45:00 AM
