Guest guest
THREE Monday, 01 March 2010 One plus one is two! And now, two months are already over here in the year 2010. That would be one-sixth of the year...gone! Yep, today we enter the third month of the year...March. So welcome, all of you, to the month of March! This month, you have 31 days to live, rejoice and be happy. I know many of you were gung-ho in January to get yourselves in better shape during the new year. In fact, some of you have already lost ten pounds so far this year or maybe even a little more. And I know I don't have to tell you how good it feels to lose weight, right? But we also know how good it doesn't feel to gain weight. And, if we're not careful, gaining back weight is as easy as a pie from Marie Callendar's! (Oh, sorry. Seems I was having a little Marie Callendar moment there for a second!) Now, in this month of March...what will you do? Well, I'm sorry to say, a great many people will start sliding off their weight-loss programs this month and...I don't want that to happen to you! Hey, you can lose another five pounds or more in March. See, many of you don't watch your starch consumption as carefully as you should. You know which foods are in the starch family. I'm talking rice, potatoes, yams, breads, crackers, noodles, cereals and yes, hot glazed donuts! (Oh, let me smell just one, will ya?) Corn and peas are starches, too. (Most people think of them as vegetables.) There're also a lot of processed foods that contain lots of starch like potato chips, Doritos, and kettle corn. I know it won't come as a surprise to you that a lot of people are just plain addicted to starches. (I know I was!) But now, I have five starches a day. Two for breakfast, two for lunch and one for dinner. I measure my portions of starches carefully and try my best to be satisfied. Also in March, you've gotta, well...march! That's right, you've got to get those legs, calves, quads and those hamstrings of yours...moving! You have to keep all of those body parts finely tuned. Please, do try to get more walking in this month. Spring will soon be here and so will the warmer weather. It'll be the perfect time to get that body of yours outside for some good, long walks. And, by the way, you have to march to the beat of your own drum this month, too. You've got to recognize how unique and special you are and that you're one of a kind. Knowing that will make it so much easier for you to work hard at taking good care of you!So I'm excited about this new month and you should be too. Won't it be great when you e-mail me at the end of the month to tell me about your weight-loss success? Now, are you ready to...MARCH?!Love,
