CREAM

Sunday, 21 March 2010

When I was a young kid, I'd sit on my mother's bed and watch her clean her face. Then she'd put these creams all over her face and body. Oh, it was like a ritual with Shirley. As I watched her one morning, I asked..."Mom, why are you doing that all the time?"

She told me, "Honey, I'm staying young. The skin gets old so you have to moisturize it everyday with these wonderful creams I use."Sometimes, Shirley would dab a little of the cream on my face and arms then rub it in for me."There, Dicky. Now you look just 12 years-old."To which, I replied, "But, Mom...I'm only 8!"Seriously, my mother continued using those luscious creams on her body until she went to Heaven. And while she's in Heaven, here on earth, I continue her daily ritual of using those wonderful moisturizing creams.

Your skin is the largest organ in your body. (A lot of people don't realize it but your skin is actually an organ.) If you go in the sun too much, you'll get wrinkles. If you smoke too much, you'll get wrinkles. And if you drink too much, those little lines will also begin appearing all over you face and body. That's why you must protect your skin. You have to do what I do.Every night before I go to bed, I put on my Oil of Olay Pro-X. I use their moisturizing cream on my face and their eye cream under and around my eyes. After my Oil of Olay treatment, I use Curel Continuous Comfort Moisturizing Lotion and rub it all over my body...from my neck to my toes. I massage it into my skin until it's all soaked in. (Sometimes I put on a little too much and end up sliding off the bed! LOL.)

After a good night's sleep, I get up in the morning and repeat my body's date with the creams, all over again. See, the moisturizer actually protects your skin. Oh, there are so many harmful little things floating around in the air out there that can, over time, damage your skin.People use to come up to Shirley and compliment her on what great skin she had. And today, I get those same kinds of compliments. And when I receive those nice comments, I look up to Heaven and say, "Thank You, Shirley, for those important creaming lessons!"Now it's Sunday and it's the perfect day to pamper yourself. I mean you've worked hard all week long and it's time to spoil yourself a little bit. So, what will it be? Will it be a soothing bubble bath with some lit candles in the bathroom and some soothing music you love playing in the background? Will it be to cozy up in your favorite chair while reading a new book? Or maybe you have a swing outside where you can swing up and touch the sky. Whatever it is, do something nice today just for you. I know you have some moisturizer there in your bathroom cabinet. So get it out and...start creaming!Love,
