TEN MONTHS 'TIL CHRISTMAS!

Thursday, 25 February 2010

Oh yeah, here's our little monthly message about, that's right, Christmas. Just hear those sleigh bells ringing and jing, jing, jingling! Oh just think, only ten months from today, you'll have your Christmas tree up, your gifts will be wrapped, the lights will be strung outside your house and you'll have your Christmas dinner prepared.

Just two months ago, you celebrated Christmas. That means it's been two months since you promised to take better care of yourself in 2010. Well, are you? From the time you put that fork down on your dessert plate last December, have you lost weight...and kept it off? Some of you write and tell me, "Oh , I lost five pounds!" Then, a week or two later, I receive an e-mail from you telling me that you've gained three of those five pounds back. I'm telling you, I get so confused, I don't know what you weigh anymore! That's why I'm asking people to write down their beginning weights and their current weights. Listen, you just can't keep gaining and losing the same few pounds every couple of weeks. I know it's gotta be frustrating for you. And I'll admit it, I used to do the same thing some of you are doing right now with your weight. But I broke that vicious cycle by believing more in me and the weight-loss plan I was on.

When you're losing weight, you're feeling happy. But when you're gaining back the weight you've worked so hard to lose, well...you feel just horrible, don't you? If you've regained some weight, you need to ask yourself why you took a detour then get to work correcting that wrong turn. You have to work on being consistent because, truth is, consistency is the name of the game.I wonder how many days you've exercised since Christmas Day, just two months ago. Everyday? Every other day? Every tenth day? How many?

And as far as the food is concerned, have you been eating healthy breakfasts, preparing your own lunches and taking them to work with you? Have you been cooking healthy dinners at home? And have you gotten those un-healthy snack foods out of your house, like the potato chips, cookies and candies? How many salads have you made for yourself since Christmas Day? I'm talking healthy salads that include fresh carrots, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, water chestnuts, broiled chicken breasts and maybe some cutup pieces of apple. And did you make intelligent dressing choices instead of using salad dressings loaded with fat and calories?Did you weigh yourself once a week? And did you record your weight in a journal like I asked you to do last week? Okay, every month this year, on the 25th of each month, we're going to have this little talk. And also on this day, I'll be closing by singing you a traditional little holiday song...I wish you a healthy Christmas, I wish you a healthy Christmas, I wish you a healthy Christmas and a healthy New Year!Love,
