Guest guest
IF YOU'RE GOING...TO SAN FRANCISCO... Saturday, 20 March 2010 Be sure to we-a-r-r-r-r some flowers in your hair. Happy first day of spring everybody! Ahhh, spring has sprung! (Finally, after a very cold winter.) Yeah, maybe you'll pick some flowers today and wear them in your hair. Have you ever worn flowers in your hair before? It's a really cool look! When the singer Minnie Ripperton performed, (back in the 70s), she always placed sprigs of baby's breath in her afro. She looked just beautiful. So I went down to the flower shop and got myself some baby's breath. I cut off a few sprigs and placed them in my afro. Once I saw how fantastic it looked, I began growing my own baby's breath in the yard! LOL.Ahhhh, spring. Beautiful flowers have begun blooming in my garden. There're so many different colors of spring that the landscape around my house looks like a Monet painting. I wish you could see it!The weather is beautiful here in Los Angeles. It's supposed to be a sunny Saturday without a cloud in the sky. Later this morning, I'll go up to my gym and do a 45 minute toning routine. I'll work on my chest, my back, the muscles in my arms and I'll work on my shoulders, too. (Hey, gotta have strong shoulders to do what I do!) After my workout at home, I'll be off to Slimmons to teach class. On the drive there, I'll see more flowers and blossoming trees as Los Angeles, well...springs to life!Across Santa Blvd. from Slimmons is the sweetest city park you've ever seen. It has a lovely walking trail lined with so many varieties of flowers. One part of the trail has all roses. Oh, you should see! I'm talking peach pink, sterling silver and bright yellow blossoms.Another area of the park features all cactus. The cactus blossoms have begun to open and yes, cactus plants do bloom. The most beautiful one to me is the Christmas cactus, luscious red blossoms that simply drape the plant. Then there's the lilies area of the park, beautiful dragon lilies, in muted tones of orange and dusty rose. As you're driving along past the park, you can actually smell the fragrance of all the springtime blossoms. And oh, it's just heavenly. For my class today at Slimmons, I've put together a fabulous CD for us to dance and sweat to. It's a tribute, 50 minutes of Mr. making us sweat! My CD includes numbers like Smooth Criminal, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough and Billie Jean! Oh, you are so Bad, you'd better Beat It! Do you hear me Billie Jean? And to close out the class, we'll be looking at the Man In The Mirror! Well now, my spring man or maiden, what will you do to enjoy this first beautiful spring Saturday of 2010? I've told you all about my workout plans...so, what are yours? How about a nice walk so you can see what mother nature has created just for you. Is it a toning day for you? Do you have my Toning Rings. Do you have some free-weights? Maybe you'll dance today with me. What will it be? Sweatin' 1, or the brand new Sweatin' To The Oldies 5? Now don't waste a moment of this first day of spring. Do something wonderful for your body and mind!Love,
