starting things, i just don't do so well at sticking with them.

Many of us are probably like that, especially when weight loss is

S -L-O-W or worse, regaining. It's easier to give up than work harder at

it sometimes.

> but i digress, my point being a 10% goal is 27lbs for me now

Sounds do-able.

> i'm a bouncer week to week & a slow loser, easy gainer,

I never accept a weight until it stays that number for at least 2 weeks

in a row. I gain and lose so much over just a 24 hour period that it's

best to wait.

> i was walking everyday, but slipped out of the habit a couple of weeks

ago. i'm trying to push myself back to it, but i have lost all my

energy & motivation.

My cardiologist wants me to *increase* my workouts form 60 minutes of

cardio a day to 90, all 7 days a week. I'm happy if I get my 4 to 6

hours a week in with the least amount of foot, back and hip pain. I'm

not going to cripple myself - and subsequently be able to do *less* - by

pushing too hard. One injury can stop all exercise for 2 or more weeks,

and by then the momentum is definitely gone. It's hard to get motivated

to exercise when just putting a foot on the ground or raising an arm up

causes excrutiating pain.

> & my b12 is low. they started me on b12 shots in the office, but so

far i can't tell a difference.

I've got to get mine checked again, probably my next round of labwork in

September and not this one in June. As a person who eats no meat it's

important to check this out now and then. I do have B-complex capsules

to take, just keep forgetting them with all the other stuff I have to

take.

>i've also got pills for bp, cholesterol, & extra fluid. i go back next

week for another f-u,

I get more labs and follow up in June. I'm hoping the red yeast rice

capsules will do the trick for the cholesterol becasue my doc knows I

will *not* take statins because of all their side effects, especially

when my numbers were within 10 points of the normal range.

>but so far the only difference i can tell is i can wear regular shoes

again

Congrats on getting rid of the water so the swelling went down.

I see my podiatrist next week and have a silly question to ask him this

time around. I've lost around 50 pounds this past year, and always lose

it in the strangest places - bra cup size, back fat, number of chins -

and this time I lost a lot in my legs and feet. Now I have deep wrinkles

and flabby skin on the soles of my feet, and every time I try do my

exercises and just walk it feels like my socks are bunched up under

there, and I know it's the skin. I'm hoping he stops laughing long

enough to tell me of some taping technique or something I can use, at

least during the workouts.

>they have me on accupril for bp, & i think i'm having every non-serious

side affect they listed.

Just be sure to let the doc know. Maybe a different pill would do the

job without the side effects. And if you get any of the symptoms on the

bottle's warning label - I'm sure the pharmacist tossed a few on there -

be sure to phone the doc ASAP. Mine has a warning about muscle pains - I

*always* have muscle pains, even before I started on this med! And with

all the extra exercise the docs want me to do I have even *more* pains.

And to watch out for sore throat and sinus pain. I don't know of a time

when I *haven't* had a sore throat or sinus problems. (sigh)

> it's supposed to be taken on an empty stomache, but this morning i

took it w bfast

Definitely phone the doc and ask for something else. There are a lot of

ACE inhibitors out there he could try instead. BTW, on this site:

http://www.drugs.com/pdr/accupril.html

it says Accupril can be taken with or without food, so don't worry.

> been feeling really down the last couple of weeks,

This crazy weather all across the country may have had something to do

with it. At least it looks like all the snow is finally over and the

spring rainy season should be just about finished. At least the sun is

out here in NJ today.

> & though my mood has improved a bit, i still feel like a deflated

balloon.

You need a strong dose of Disney cartoons. Or Looney Tunes - yeah, those

are better. Or Mel movies, or . . .

Yeah, I watch way too much TV. LOL
