Guest guest
HOLLYWOOD COMES A-CALLIN'! Thursday, 01 April 2010 Oh, where to begin? I haven't really talked about this much because I really wasn't sure...if I got the part. Wait, let me back up a bit. See, over the years, I've been asked to appear in some feature films from time-to-time. Sometimes I was asked to play myself and other times, I was asked to play a character other than myself. I've always turned those offers down though. Some of them were small roles in 100 million-dollar blockbusters. But even those offers didn't sway me.It's when my manager received a call from Cameron's agent that things changed. If you don't know who Mr. Cameron is, I'm sure you've seen or heard of a couple of his blockbusters like Titanic or the still-playing, Avatar. actually wanted me in Avatar but I didn't want to play one of those blue people. They all looked so alike to me and I didn't want to look like everyone else in the film. So I turned down his offer. But since then, he's come back and offered me a role that I just couldn't refuse. Cameron is remaking The Ten Commandments! Oh, I remember the first time I saw that movie. It simply amazed me! That scene where Moses parted the Red Sea? I'm telling you, I just about spilled my box of popcorn onto the floor. (Oh, no!) The Ten Commandments was a special movie that touched a lot of people's lives. It's truly a Hollywood classic. Now you're probably wondering what part Mr. Cameron wants me to play in the retelling of this classic, right? Well, it's MOSES! That's right. Mr. C. pointed out that during my career, I have helped so many people and have been such a leader in as many lives. He just felt I'd be perfect for the role of Moses! With his eye-popping special effects, he envisions the all new Ten Commandments surpassing even Avatar to become the highest grossing motion picture of all time. (And yes, like Avatar, it will be shot in 3-D.) Now I've met Charlton Heston several times over the years and I've always been amazed by his performances. I mean, come on, Mr. Heston is Moses. Following him, I just hope I'll be able to do the role justice. Yesterday, they began working on my hair and wigs while I also had a fitting for the robes I'll be wearing in the movie. You know...I'm starting to really like this look. Hey, I don't have to wear those little Dolfin shorts and who needs those sparkly tank-tops anyway, huh? (Especially when you're Moses!)This week, I'll rehearse the burning bush scene. (I'll admit, I am a little nervous but I know I have your support.) I'll be on the road quite a bit because we'll be shooting in Israel and Egypt as well as the MGM backlot here in Hollywood. We'll be shooting for seven months and by that time, I'll be able to grow my own Moses-length beard! LOL. It's been great hanging out with some of Mr. Cameron's friends. I actually went golfing with Leonardo DiCaprio a few days ago. (I think he was surprised at how good I was!) He's a really nice guy but I could tell he wanted to play the part of Moses. But wanted the role to go to a more mature actor, which is another reason I got the job.I can't wait until we attend the premiere of the all new Ten Commandments. (What am I going to wear?!) Until then, stay tuned. I'll let you know when the release date is coming up. And oh, I almost forgot one little thing...APRIL FOOL'S!Love,
