NURTURE OR DESTROY?

Friday, 02 April 2010

Isn't you body amazing? (Mine too!) I mean you have a head, two sparkly eyes, that cute nose, beautiful lips, ears, a neck...and that's just from your shoulders up. Then there's your amazing lower body that helps you do all the things you need to get done.

Since the beginning of time, painters and sculptors have been impressed and amazed by the beauty and form of the human body. I've been fortunate to have visited museums around the world. In some of them, I've been surrounded by sculptures, each more beautiful than the next. They all paid homage to God's magnificent creation...the human body. When we're born, we come out all brand-spanking new! But after we're born, each and every day after that...we eat. Now there are several ways to take care of our bodies. And one of those ways is to eat...healthy! The body needs certain vitamins, minerals and nutrients everyday. Years ago, some really smart people figured out which vitamins, minerals and nutrients could be found in certain foods. For instance, they figured out that oranges contained lots of vitamin C. And that beautiful dark-green broccoli is just chock full of antioxidants.

Now, the proper way to keep that body of yours strong and healthy is by consuming the cleanest and healthiest foods you can. And it all begins in the produce section of your local supermarket. Your body needs fresh fruits and vegetables, fat-free dairy products, lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats. The body needs these foods to grow and maintain healthy organs and circulation. Now it's sad to say that most people don't eat the way I just described. Millions of Americans live off foods that have very little in the way of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. So, what's in the foods that too many Americans are living on these days?Well, I'm talking overly processed foods filled with preservatives, lots of artificial "stuff" and even manmade things we can't even pronounce! The body doesn't digest these foods well at all and, worse, there's very little in any of those bad-for-you foods that're going to actually help your body. So, when it comes to what you eat...which category do you fall into? Are you nurturing your body with the foods you eat? Or...are you destroying your body by consuming many of the wrong foods? When you don't eat well, when you don't keep your body tuned up inside, then you're going to end up developing medical problems as you grow older. Because you're eating so many of those processed foods, (and I don't have to tell you), you're going to end up gaining weight. That extra weight will lead to illness!

On the other hand, if you're eating the best of the best of the foods your body needs, you're insuring your body will be stronger and last longer! So, which do you want?

If you haven't been eating as well as you should, I want you to know that you can change your eating habits...oh yes you can! (No matter how long you've had those bad eating habits.) I want you to understand this fact: You control the foods and...the food does not control you!It takes about 30 days to really turn your eating habits around and form healthier ones. Why don't you start today? I've known many people over the years who've changed their lives by making changes with what they put on their forks. Well, I say it's time to take control of your fork! Love,
