Guest guest
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Friday, 18 December 2009 Oh, I'm a little early wishing you Happy New Year's, I know. Two weeks early, in fact! But there...I did anyway! Can you believe it? We have barely two more weeks left in 2009. I just wanna scream! I don't know, maybe I'm in like, "New Year's denial" or something. It's just so hard to believe that we have only 13 days until we say good-bye to 2009! So, wanna know what my mottos will be in 2010? Okay, you're hearing them here first: Be a 10 in 2010! And...Yes you can in 2010!Now here's my question for you today. Wouldn't you like to see a weight-loss during the next two weeks? Now, in two weeks, it's not going to be a lot of weight loss, maybe just two or three pounds. But hey, those will be pounds lost...not pounds gained! And any way you look at it, that's good news! Some of you did very good in 2009. And some of you, well, didn't do quite as good as you would've liked. So why not take the next two weeks and become a success story. You'll feel better, I promise. Some of you think I'm asking for the impossible. ", how can you expect me not to eat during the holidays?" Look, I'm going to stay on program during the holidays...why can't you? Hey, let's face it, there aren't going to be any new holiday foods that you haven't already tried. There'll be turkey and those big honey-baked hams. There'll be all kinds of potatoes prepared different ways. There'll be lots of fancy casseroles and let's not forget the warm croissants and buttered biscuits laid out on the holiday table. All the hor doureves will be the same. And last of all, there'll be the pies, cakes and cookies you know oh-so well. Now, here's the flip side of the coin. In the next 13 days, you could put on, are you ready for this...4-6 pounds, very easily. Hey, I know that's true. And how do I know? Because I've done it! Oh yes, I used to just about tie myself to the dining room chair. And as long as there was food on that table, I didn't budge! So what do you weigh today? Let's say you weigh 168 pounds. Now let's say you put on five more pounds over the next 13 days. Oh, oh! That means, on New Year's Day, you'll have lots, uh...more to celebrate by weighing 173 pounds! Hey, let me pour some more champagne in your glass for ya' and why don't you have another rum ball while you're at it! Oh, I don't have to tell you that you'd feel pretty dreadful on January 1st if you gained five pounds between now and then. I just know you would. And then...it would take you the whole first month of the New Year to lose the five pounds you gained in just two weeks. What a tragedy that would be! You don't want to begin 2010 on that kind of note now, do you? Now, I don't know if all of you reading today's message have a FoodMover. It's a little something I created to help keep you accountable when it comes to how much you eat. It teaches you all about portions. And when it comes to weight-loss, that really is what it's all about. When you eat too many portions of food, you'll put on the pounds. It's that simple. So here's my challenge for you today, my friends. Dedicate the next two weeks to your good health and not to your taste buds.Love,
