Guest guest
FOUR QUARTERS EQUALS ONE DOLLAR Wednesday, 31 March 2010 Okay, you have four quarters in your hand and...you spend one of them. Now, what do you have left? That's right...three quarters! My point? Well, today ends the first quarter of 2010. Yep, that's right...you've spent your first quarter! For the past three months, I've been really cheering you on. I've been writing daily messages to inspire you. I've spent hours e-mailing and calling many of you who needed a little push. I've been on my soapbox preaching to you everyday about healthy eating and the importance of sweatin'. Over the last three months, we've talked a lot about making sure you're drinking enough water. We've talked about your getting in those sit-ups and pushups. And we've also talked a lot about your having high hopes for what you can do!Every month this quarter, I've challenged you to lose five pounds or maybe even a little more, depending on what you weigh. And during the last three months, I've traveled the country, met many of you, took pictures with you and encouraged you to keep fighting. And even though at times, you know I can be a little silly, you also know that I've always been very serious...about you! Many of you have suffered with your weight for decades. Some of you have wasted time and not taken good care of yourselves. In January, I was right here telling you to make your New Year's resolutions. I told you to look at those resolutions and to follow them through by reviewing your progress each week.We didn't just talk about weight-loss resolutions either, did we? We talked about setting and reaching all kinds of goals for yourself in the new year. Well, 90 days in 2010 have come and gone. So I'd like to ask, if you had to make a report card on how well you've done so far this year, what grade would you give yourself? Did you lose 15 or more pounds during the last 90 days? Did you work out consistently? Were you able to keep yourself in a positive mood...most of the time? Do you feel better about yourself today than you did on January 1st? Did you make more time for yourself over the past 90 days?Look, I know you're all caretakers for the people you love. But I've told you and I'll keep telling you to make time for yourself to eat properly and exercise faithfully. If you're doing well so far this year, then continue doing well into the next quarter. And if you're still jumping on and off the fence, let this be the day you jump back on and, this time...stay there! If you didn't lost 15 pounds or more over the past three months, learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them during the next quarter. Hey, I know you get discouraged sometimes. I know people may say things that upset you. You're a sensitive person and may take things the wrong way. But you simply have to talk yourself into staying on program...no matter what!So-o-o-o, your first quarter is gone. Now, what will you "buy" with your next quarter? I've got it...how's about a little good health!Love,
