Guest guest
WHATCHA DOING TODAY FOR YOUR WORKOUT? Thursday, 14 January 2010 Yesterday, I asked what you were cooking. Well today, I want to know how you're "cooking"...that body of yours! (Hey, What's it all about Alfie?) Well, it's all about keeping that body of yours in good shape, that's what! And you can't do that if you're not exercising everyday. Oh...How surprising! I've told you before that, many times in my past, I've tried losing weight without exercise. It's true. Long ago, I did terrible things to my body in my desperate efforts to lose weight. And you know what? Every time I did lose some weight, I'd gain it all right back. Oh, you'd think I would have learned from all of those failed efforts, right? But...I didn't. The reason is...I was in "exercise denial."So let me get back to my original question. Did you exercise yesterday? And how about the day before? Did you exercise last weekend? Oh wait...I'm sorry. I know how busy you are these days. Shame on me for even asking! You had chores to do and errands to run, didn't you? You were just too busy. But wait again, you mean...too busy for your body? Too busy to do something good for your health? Now let's put this all in perspective. When you exercise, it's not just because you want to lose weight. Millions of Americans who've reached their ideal weights continue to exercise everyday. Hey, it's just the right thing to do! Remember, you don't exercise just for the good of your body. You exercise for the good of your mind, too. Sweatin' and toning makes your brain happy. No, I mean it. It really does! In fact, when I'm working out, I have the happiest brain in the world! During my workouts, I can actually feel my brain power. And I want you to feel that kind of brain power, too. Wait, let me get on my knees...I'm begging you to do your workouts everyday. That is, if you're not doing them these days. And if you are already working out faithfully, please...I want you to continue! (Okay, I'm getting off my knees.) Now listen, if you can't do a full hour of exercise on your first try, I know you can do ten minutes. I know there are video and DVD workouts in your homes. Please...use them! And keep trying your best everyday you do use them. Before you know it, you'll be doing that whole hour of exercise while you're singing, dancing and sweatin'!Okay, today is my toning and cardio day. I'll tone my muscles for about forty minutes and then I'll teach class at Slimmons tonight. And you know what? I can't wait! I truly look forward to my exercise now because...it makes me look and feel so fab! Love,
Guest guest
>So let me get back to my original question. Did you exercise yesterday? To be completely honest, today (Sat 1/16) is the first day in over 3 weeks that I *didn't* exercise, and that's only because I finally got 8 hours of sleep for the first time in almost as long, and by the time I woke up, took all my meds, and got dressed by boys were already up and ready to get the day going. It felt good to *not* workout for one morning. LOL I'll probably hop on the exercise bike later when my husband is watching some weird Lon Chaney movie or something. My daily routine lately has been a Sansone 2 or 3 mile workout in the morning (usually around 5:30 - 6am) and later on, before lunch, another half hour, whether it's a video, the treadmill, or exercise bike. Most of my videos have weights or toning cords, so I get a two-fer and not have to pop in an additional workout for strength or toning. >When you exercise, it's not just because you want to lose weight. Actually, I'm doing all of this mainly for heart health right now. Before my little heart thingie I exercised, but not even half the intensity or enthusiasm I do now. Now I have to treat exercise as if it's a medication I have to take daily. It's the only way I get it done. > Millions of Americans who've reached their ideal weights continue to exercise everyday. Eh. When I was still going to cardiac rehab for the 12 weeks I lost a grand total of around 12 pounds, and some of that was water weight from the saline IV's I had while hospitalized. Since then I lost a few more pounds, but they're just a drop in the bucket when you have over 140 still left to lose (According to the doctor, taht is. I'd be happy at just another 40 pounds down). It's already the end of the second week of January and even with sticking to my doctor-prescribed food plan and getting an hour of cardio exercise daily, I still only lost a total of 2 pounds. I did go down 2 pounds lower than yesterday's weight. Did it three times in the past 2 weeks, but they keep coming back on. Darn those daily fluctuations.
