Guest guest
SIX-AND-A-HALF HOURS Thursday, 04 February 2010 After a wonderful and successful trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada last weekend, I'm happy to share a wonderful report with you. We raised 1.1 million dollars for the Breast Cancer Foundation to help purchase new state-of-the-art mammogram machines for the province of Nova Scotia. The people of Halifax were so fantastic. And oh, what a big crowd we had attending. We were all so pleased! The next morning, I left Halifax very early to fly over to Chicago where I'd change planes for my flight home to Los Angeles. But after we arrived on-time in Chicago, I found out that my flight to LAX had been canceled. Oh, my heart just sank. I was so looking forward to getting home to spend some time with my precious little Hattie! Our connecting flight was now delayed for six-and-a-half hours! So the nice lady at the gate took me to one of the lounges in the airport where I could wait...for those six-and-a-half hours. Ya' know, you can think of so many things you need to do when you have that much time to kill. Me, I was sitting in a chair in the lounge with other people all around me. And one by one, they each took a seat beside me and told me their own " stories." ", my mother used 'Sweatin' To The Oldies' and lost 40 pounds!""When my daughter attended preschool, they played your tapes and the kids had so much fun moving with you.""My 89 year-old mother still uses your ' & The Silver Foxes' video and she just loves it!"", I have to get some of this weight off or I don't know what I'll do."I sat and talked with so many people in the airport lounge for well, about...six-and-a-half hours. Many of them needed inspiration to get the weight off...now. I talked to people who had thirty pounds to lose and to some who had as many as 200 pounds to lose. I talked to three individuals who each weighed over 400 pounds. And as they sat telling me their stories, I could see the tears forming in their eyes. There were just so many stories. Most of those stories revolved around these folks working too many hours and having to eat on the run. (You and I both know what that means, don't we?) It means you end up eating terribly. I met people who work from eight in the morning to 6:30 in the evening and so end up having dinner as late as 9PM. (And like I've told you many times before, that's not good to be eating so late!)I was told by some of them that they didn't like this vegetable and why they couldn't eat this food or that one. And of course, the majority of them had lost and gained weight so many times during their lifetimes. I gave each of them my website contact address and I'll send them all information on how to get started again. Now I have to ask you a quick question: Is it time for you to start again? Have you gained and lost weight for most of your life? Have you kind of given up and accepted your being overweight or simply tried to ignore your weight issues? Well, do yourself a favor and begin again...today.No more delays!Love,
