Seriously? UP 3.2 lbs this week? I know I was "naughty" at the buffet the other day and didn't reign in my PMS-issues this week and fed them instead, but seriously...? That much of a gain?

Maybe I need to go to the loo and re-weigh for the week (LOL = TMI, sorry!!)

Or still keep flushing with water and hope some of it is still retention!!

At today's training clinic, the speaker was talking about the differences between needing the physical and mental endurance to "compete" or participate in sports/events such as this 12K that we're training for.

Today was 3 miles. I knew my personal goal(s) were:

A) to go

B) to finish

C) to finish in 45-60 minutes

D) to not hurt badly following the training mileage today

Unfortunately, the week's schedule (and knee discomfort) kept me from doing 2-3 training walks this week in the 2-3 mile range.

I set out at my "normal" 4 mph pace (15 min miles) and knew before the 8 minute warm-up period of walking was over that I had better not even try to wog any of it. My right knee (the one with issues) was a little sore and that makes me do some kind of compensating thing with my gait and was making the left calf sore.

So I decided I better slow down my pace a little.

Today's time/pace: 50:00 (3.5 mph basically)

I may need to slow it down to 4 mph next week, but I don't know if I can push to do another mile at next week's 4-miler.

Next week's speaker is going to be great, though, so even if I go to listen to her and do 2-3 miles, I am excited:

Kay Le, 7-Summit record holder, will be our guest speaker next week.

That should be a very good, motivational talk!

I've determined that this year's Bloomsday 12K will be my "marathon" for the year and not "push" to do a 1/2M this year. Maybe next year.

Next year's going to be an exciting year!

DS17's graduation: May 2011

Figured it out. There are 61 weeks to DS17's graduation now. At .5 lb per week, that is only 30 lbs lost, and I am 51 from goal, so I definitely need to quit playing around and get to work LOL!!

OK. In my defense, even if I seem to falter every 2 weeks during the TOM/PMS stages of life, I have done better in the past 7 weeks with the doctor/nutritionist's suggestions and tips than I did all of the last year to year and a half.

Hope you are all having a great day, have fun this weekend!
