HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Friday, 01 January 2010

Happy, happy...HAPPY NEW YEAR'S DAY! Well, here we are in 2010! I know you've made your list of New Year's resolutions, like I asked you to. Right? And I know your mind is filled with hopes and bright dreams for the future. Now before we talk about your future in 2010, let's touch upon and reflect about what you've accomplished in 2009.

As we all know, last year was a tough one for many people. Millions and millions of American men and women became unemployed. Many young Americans who graduated college last year are having a very tough time finding jobs in their areas of study. Business is down all over the country. You can drive down the street anywhere in the U.S. and spot "For Lease" or "For Sale" signs in front of businesses that had to close their doors because of the bad economy.

Some families can't afford to send their children to school because of the cost of school supplies or the uniforms they have to buy. And for that reason, many children are now being homeschooled. So yes, we're in kind of a mess right now. And I do hope you've prayed for the situation to get better in our country during this new year. So let me ask, how was 2009 for you? Did you reach some of your goals last year? Yeah? Which ones? And was one of your goals weight-loss?

You know, there're a lot of magazine covers in the supermarkets this time of year blaring headlines like...Lose 7 Pounds In 7 Days! Or you might spot one that reads...Diet Pills THAT WORK! Watch the fat melt off your body! Then there're all the canned weight-loss shakes on the market. And I know, as you were watching TV this year, you saw some of those commercials that made all kinds of unrealistic weight-loss claims. OH!Now, you've never heard me make those kinds of impossible claims to you, never, in all of my career. And...I never will!

You'll recall that one year ago, in January 2009, I challenged you all. I challenged you to lose 5 pounds-a-month for each month of 2009. 5 pounds X 12 months = 60 pounds. And that's a really nice, healthy weight-loss for one year. So if you had 60 pounds to lose, did you lose them last year? Did you stay on program and meet my 5 Pounds-A-Month Weight-Loss Challenge? Well, get ready, because I'm about to challenge you again in 2010. I know you can lose at least five pounds a month. I've always told you that if you have a large amount of weight to lose, you may lose more than five pounds a month in the beginning. But that weight-loss rate will not last. See, as you continue to lose weight, your rate of weight loss will slow down to about five pounds a month. When I was crash dieting, many years ago, I could lose about 12 pounds a week! But just look at where it got me...sick, hospitalized and fighting for my life! So if you have not added to your list of New Year's resolutions losing 5 pounds a month in 2010, I'd like you to add it today.Well I'm here in f-f-f-freezing Philadelphia, P-A! I'll be on QVC today at 11AM(ET) before flying back home to Los Angeles. While I'm on today, besides wishing everyone a Happy New Year, I'll talk to them a lot about the importance of making and keeping the resolutions they've made. But right now, I want to take this opportunity to wish you, your family, your friends and your pets a very healthy, prosperous and HAPPY NEW YEAR!Love,
