I RESOLVE...

Wednesday, 30 December 2009

I'm on my way to QVC today. I'm going to be on three times New Year's Eve and once on New Year's Day. I'm on tomorrow at 7AM, Noon and 10PM. On New Year's Day, I'll be on at 11AM. (All times are Eastern.)

I'm packing some warm clothes because it s going to be cold in Philadelphia. (Oh, wait. I have no warm clothes. LOL.) For the flight over to Philly, I'll be bringing two sheets of paper to study on the way over. See, I've kept my lists of New Years resolutions from 2008 and 2009. And while we fly in the friendly skies, I'll be reviewing each of my resolutions from the two years past to see how I've done. The 2009 list is very similar to the 2008 version but with a few additions.

The first resolution on my list last year was to be more patient. And I'm still working on that one....it's the hard one. See, you have to practice patience everyday because everyday we tend to get im-patient. I'm happy to say that I've made great strides with my patience this year. I did a pretty good job, not losing my patience very often in 2009. And on those occasions where I did lose my patience, well, I quickly became aware of it. And, I'm proud to say, I got myself right back on the patience train...immediately! If you want to be successful at anything in life, remember, you're gonna need that patience!

Another resolution I made for this year was to teach better workout classes in 2009. I worked out harder in my club. I worked on my stamina and my strength. You know I'm 61 years-old now so I need all of that training more than ever. And just like with anyone else, there's always room for improvement. I taught classes all over the country in 2009 and everyone had a fun time in my classes. But the one question I was asked by so many people is this one: ", where do you get all of your energy?" (Hey, I wish I knew!)Another resolution I made for 2009 was to get a good night's sleep every night of the year. Now I don't know what kind of sleeper you are but...I'm a terrible sleeper! When I was a kid, I had severe asthma. I had to sleep with a vaporizer that made lots of noise. Oh, I tossed and turned every night trying to fall asleep, for several years of my childhood. But today, thank goodness, my asthma is gone. Meanwhile, my mind is now filled with a million things to think about at night.I think about the people I have ton call, those I'm worried about and those who've put back on the weight they've lost. I worry about the people who suffer from eating disorders. I worry about the housebound people I call to check up on. I try to solve so many of these problems in my mind even as I'm trying to fall asleep.

Eventually, I do get to sleep. But I wake up thinking all of those same thoughts again. Ya' know, I've even tried counting sheep to fall asleep but, oddly enough, I wake up the next morning in the mood for lamb chops! LOL.My fourth resolution was that I would work hard on my two new DVDs, Sweatin' To The Oldies 5 and Toning To The Oldies. In January, I had to start thinking about the sets, songs and who would be in my two new DVDs with me. Yep, the process of creating them started way back in January. Hey, there's a lot of work involved. But after all of that hard work, I can say that they will be two of the best workout DVDs I've ever done!Okay, now my fifth resolution is, no...wait! I've run out of room in this message. So we'll just have to continue this conversation tomorrow. See you then!Love,
