YOUR LEVEL OF SELF-WORTH

Sunday, 10 January 2010

I always remind you of my formula to lose weight and be healthy. And I always tell you to have confidence and self-worth on your side for this journey through life. So...what is self-worth? Well, self-worth is knowing how wonderful you are. And let me tell you something...you are wonderful!

When you have a high level of self-worth, you love yourself. And when you love yourself, you'll want to take better care of yourself, too. But so many of you E-mail and tell me you have no self-worth. Hey, wouldn't it be great if we could go to Amazon.com and buy a box of self-worth...on sale!So how do you get self-worth? Where does it come from? For starters, self-worth comes from taking inventory of your life, focusing on the good and positive things you've done here on earth. It's a building process, too. You know, like that new world tallest building in Dubai. (Oh, it looks so thin, I wonder is they put it on a diet!)

To figure out your self-worth, find a place where you can be alone and make a list of the reasons why you're worthy of your own love. I want you to think about this. When you perform acts of kindness for others, those acts build your self-worth. When you get up in the morning and prepare a healthy breakfast for yourself, it builds your self-worth. When you get your exercise in everyday, you build more self-worth more then, too.You see, all of the nice things you do for others and for yourself helps you feel good about yourself. And all of that goodness you do grows into more self-worth.But self-worth can go away very quickly. Sometimes someone will say something to you that really offends you. And then you start feeling down about yourself. You may have had a fight with your spouse, a family member or with your boss and you don't turn out the winner. Things like that can put a damper on your self-worth.Maybe you had an off-day with your eating or didn't get your workout in one day. And then you start putting yourself down for those things.

All of these incidents can tarnish or begin to crumble your self-worth. And let's face it, there're going to be happenings in your life everyday that are going to be challenging. The bottom line is that you're going to have to work hard meeting those challenges while maintaining your self-worth at the same time.

When those challenging occasions come up, I want you to remember that you are the highest form of life created on this planet. That should make you feel really good about yourself. And one more way to keep your self-worth where it should be is to simply look into the mirror and say to yourself...."I am worth it!"So on this Sunday, think about what we've discussed today and really work on your self-worth until it touches the sky!Love,
