SIX

Wednesday, 06 January 2010

Well here we are, six days into the new year. I wonder if you weighed yourself on January 1st. And in the last six days, do you think you lost any weight? Was one of the resolutions you made for 2010...healthier eating? I know you've been on and off diet programs for quite a few years of your life. And you know what I'm about to say is a fact...Reduce the number of calories you consume each day, make better food choices and...you will lose weight!

After losing some weight, if you go back to eating more calories than you burn, then you will gain back the weight you worked so hard to lose. It's that simple. If you're supposed to be on 1600 calories a day and you eat 2200 calories a day, well...you will gain weight everyday of your life you keep eating that way. Some of you have tried drastic eating programs and you did lose some weight fast. But...that weight you lost, using an unwise program, did come back. Hey, I've been on a 500 calorie-a-day diet and lost some weight on it. And later...it found me. LOL!Some of you have tried skipping meals to lose weight. And skipping meals is not very healthy for your system. You see, your body needs food in order to survive. If you're supposed to be on 1400 calories a day and you stay on 1400 calories a day, you will lose weight every month. So truthfully, are you on a reduced-calorie food program, like the FoodMover, to lose weight? Are there measuring cups and spoons in your kitchen that you're actually using? Are you bringing reduced-calorie and reduced-fat foods into your home? Are you eating more salads and making most of your meals in your own kitchen?

I know you want this...I know you want to lose weight. You E-mail and tell me that all the time. But you have to know that without a healthy food program, you're never going to lose weight...never!If you didn't start your weight-loss program on January 1st for some crazy reason, then let this sixth day of January be the day you start. Clean out your fridge, your cupboards and freezer. Make out a healthy grocery list before you go grocery shopping again and stick to your program. If you want to lose the fat that's sticking to your ribs, get started today and, once you do start...don't stop!

Now many of you can't tell me why you start out so great with a weight-loss program on Monday but, by Thursday, you're eating one of those Blooming Onions at TGIF! Well, this is the year you have to figure out what kicks you off your food program. To explore the reasons why, spend some time alone and run that question through your mind. It's only when you find the answer that you'll be able to make healthy eating a dedicated part of your lifestyle...forever!Love,
