Guest guest
SWEATIN' WITH THE FAMILY! Monday, 15 March 2010 When I created Sweatin' To The Oldies, way back when, I had a purpose in mind. In creating my new workout, one of my purposes was to show people of all different shapes, sizes and ages having a good time sweatin' together. Another purpose was for my video to be done on a fun and happy set. And I wanted real, live music...not boring elevator music. We recorded Sweatin' To The Oldies with music from a live band. So if one of the musicians in the band made a mistake, we had to start the number all over. If one of the band's singers made a mistake, we'd have to stop the camera and start over then, too. Finally, if one of the dancers made a mistake, (that's right, including me), well...I think you're figuring things out by now...CUT! Let's start again! Oh, I can't tell you how many times we had to redo Dancing In The Streets!Well, I guess everyone understood each of my purposes because the original Sweatin' To The Oldies took off like a flapping stack of pancakes from IHOP! In fact, people loved them so much that I had to follow my first Sweatin' workout with Sweatin' To The Oldies 2, 3 and 4! And now, you can find the all new Sweatin' To The Oldies 5 available in the store here on my the site. Now I have to tell you, a day doesn't go by where I don't receive e-mails from women, in particular, telling me how much they love working out to my DVDs. But wait, it gets better. When they write, a lot of them tell me, ", my kids were watching me working out to one of your DVDs and they actually joined in working out with me!"One lady wrote and told me that she's even gotten her husband to join in with her workouts. But get this, she loves it but admits he gets a little annoying trying to sing along with each of the numbers and, she says...he can't sing. LOL!I've received e-mails telling me that a grandmother, mother and daughter are all sweatin' together in the living room to one of my Sweatin' DVDs. Wow! Three generations, all sweatin' together with me. Now that really makes me smile! Now I'm gonna have to say that I don't think many families are very physically active together these days. And hey, that's not good. I think every family should carve out some time and take a walk together, go to the gym together or even climb a mountain together! When I'm on the road teaching one of my classes, I see families who've come out to see me all having one heckuva good time sweatin' together. Now...that's a fabulous sight to see!But wait, it gets even cuter. Attached to some of the e-mails I receive are photos of toddlers in their training pants, just shakin' it right along with Mom in front of the TV. Now how cute is that?! Hmmmm, maybe my next DVD should me Sweatin' With The Babies. LOL!I know that some of you worry that your children aren't getting any or enough exercise at school. And I know some of you are so busy at work that you're not exercising regularly, either...like you should. So why not make exercise a family affair? I mean, when was the last time you took your family bowling or played golf with them at a miniature putt-putt? Or hey, when's the last time you and your family all went clogging together? Don't laugh! I clogged once and I had to take a six-hour nap afterwards! Clogging is not easy dancing, that's for sure! Now remember, the family that sweats together...lives longer together!Love,
